• Eddie Van Halen leaving Peavey?

Hey all,
Dunno how true that rumor is, but it's said that after his contract is up with peavey @ the end of this year I think it was (I'm guessing his guitars), he won't renew it. If it's true, Jackson should really jump on that and have him playing our guitars. Only problem is, what the hell has he done recently? I'm not an avid follower, so he might've had a little side project I don't know about. He's marketable in a way, seeing Van Halen was so huge in the 80's and his name is regocnizable. Dunno if it's worth it to make a sig guitar for him, but his name added to the ENDOSERED BY JACKSON list would be cool. First step though, does anyone know of this rumor and if it's true or not?

This has been a rumor for a while. Pics of Eddie in Wayne Charvel's old shop sparked the rumor that Eddie was leaving Peavey for Wayne... (kinda sounds dirty)

Should Jackson pick up Eddie? You already stated that Eddie hasn't done much lately. With his antics of the last couple of years, I'd venture to say that Eddie would be more of a liability to Jackson/Charvel than an asset. Nobody has seen him with a guitar in public recently.

Maybe the American Bar Association should endorse him...

Eddie's had some rough breaks during the last little while, It seems on the surface he's not handled them too well.

Apparently he was more than a little poorly behaved at NAMM...

i doubt he is leaving peavey, he is their whole line up.....he is probably one of the few guitarists that can make a lot of money endorsing guitars...anyone would love to have him

Yes, Peavey and Eddie are gravy trains to each other; it would hurt either one to pull the plug on the deal. Peavey has to
be pretty upset with Eddie making a drunken spectacle of himself at winter NAMM, though. They were poised to be the
belle of the ball and Eddie barfed on their shoes, so to speak!

They need to throw him into a lockdown rehab for about 90 days before the next NAMM, and escort him with bodyguards from the rehab to his NAMM appearance. That's
about the only way to ensure he doesn't do the same thing again this year. It's
a shame to see him reduced to a wreck.

toejam, the answer is yes.
The man is a legend and a King, in my opinion, and is an asset to whatever company he hooks up with. Who gives a rats ass about his behavior at NAMM? He's a fuggin rock star, man! What happened to the good ole days when rock stars could behave any way they chose? Public drunkeness? Sh1t, that's kids stuff. If we can flame Eddie for that...weak.
Skidd, I'm with you bro. Lets hope Eddie can get his sh1t together and start eatin' some meat again...he's still the KING, just in a self induced exile, is all.

Actually, Malmsteen is the real KING..... and he is currently just about the same size and weight as the real KING was right before he went on to meet his maker..

I didn't flame Eddie. He's been out of the public eye for so long and hasn't even attempted to make a comeback. He had tongue cancer, went through chemo, started smoking again, his wife left him because of it. He and Alex don't do squat any more, so... whatever. He was an innovator, but it seems like there's nothing left for him in the music world any more, at least he's made no attempt at it. He's the reason I got into playing guitar, but he's no longer a role model... not to mention the fact that there's so many other great guitar players out there that have surpassed him.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">i sure don't, but i haven't since they released that POS 5150 album. yes...i know it sold millions. so do the backstreet boys.

yes, evh is a legend. however, i saw him at namm, and yeah, he was wasted. bfd. he is, however, not in the best of health, and quite honestly, looked really really.... well... sickly. and yeah, i know i'd look like hell if i had the years he's had. however.... when i saw him, he was about 3" away. he looked like a corpse, and i thought for some reason he may not be around much longer. i know that's probably not the case, but the man is not lookin well. or even human.

back to the original topic... ed would never be a c/j endorser. he HATES jackson.

LOTS.

just ask pat about his experience with ed.
