• Carlos Cavazo

I didn't realize that he was still a Jackson Endorser. I saw him the first time in "83" or "84"...those years were a bit of a haze so I'm not sure of the exact year. I was really impressed with him that night and have been a fan ever since. I've kinda lost touch with his music over the years but he put on a great show that night. I was at the edge of the stage with his amps hammering my right ear and they rang for 3 1/2 days lol...The best I remember, King Cobra was the opening band..ahhh the 80's..And yes I know, I'm stuck in the past.

Back in 84 or 85 probably ...yeah, Carlos was using one of those stubby explorer lookin' washburns ...those were decent gutars actually.....but they had a weird V-shape neck that was different ...and Rudy played Washburn basses too.......I belive his Jackson days started around 89 or so.

King Kobra "Ready to strike" was just was released in 85 so they were just supporting that album ...I assume...KK 1st CD was really good!!! then they got extremely....well Gay .. Mark Free even got a sex change ...and I always that he had a very manly voice

...as a matter of fact I just picked up Quiet Riots "Alive and Well" and "Terrified" today for a $1 a piece never opened.....that's cool I guess. I'm probably not going to listen to them much.....way too much brand new metal stuff coming out to listen to.

I liked that first King Kobra CD too, and
went to see 'em at the Country Club in LA
(Well, Reseda - The Valley, duudes!).

They were brave, but not wise, to have Racer X open for them! I just wasn't into their not-bad-at-all dual guitar attack after seeeing Paul and Bruce do it
at Warp 9 first.

Yeah, I'm picking an opening band that burns me into slag doing what I do best! I give 'em credit for balls, though they're one set short now!

Dude ...could imagine any band following Racer X ...especially back in the day.....Damn those guys Smoke ...The Whole band is awesome!!!

...The only one I didn't care for was Jeff Martin ....but he's much , much better now .....very Halfordish!!

I heard he also has/had a Judas Preist tribute band as well ....

Man, I remember sitting across from bruce and just ing when he would play!! He gave me my first couple of guitar lessons thanks to a mutual friend (thanks justin!!). Man I wish he'd come back home and start teaching again!

Yeah, Bruce is really underrated because Paul was the sensei of the two of them.

When he and Paul shredded harmony leads ON EACH OTHER'S GUITARS - that is, they stood together and each picked his own strings, while fretting the other guy's fretboard!! ~ I just couldn't believe my
eyes! They were definitely synchronized to an inhumanly precise degree!

Bill, are you thinking of Surgical Steel? that was Jeff's pre-Racer X band, which I don't know if they were a tribute band but they sure tried to emulate the Priest! Check out the clips on the Racer X website of some cheesy movie they were in with Leif Garret. I guess Leif's band was in a battle of the bands and Jeff's band were the local badasses! When the guy asked Jeff if he could post the clips he agreed by saying, well he'd done worse things!

That night he did play an Explorer and a V. He also played a white strat style guitar that night, I had always thought it was a Jackson. I could be way wrong about it being a Jackson though.
