They just sucked live.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">now, wait a minute. when they're live, i think they're THE tightest band to be playing live. when you hear 'em, it just sounds awesome! that's what i think anyway.

Re: saw MAIDEN last night

I heard they cut 3-4 songs from their original 17 song setlist for the US. Some venues are seeing Maiden play for barely 90 minutes (and that's counting Bruce's obligatory 10 minute rant). This is supposedly due to Dio demanding full solo spots for his guitarist and drummer, but that smells like BS. People are pissed on the Maiden BB.

I'm going to this show in Cleveland next week. Don't really care for Motorhead but I've seen Dio back on the Black Sabbath Mob Rules tour and I've seen Maiden twice back in the 80's as well. The first time they opened for Judas Priest and the second time Malmsteen opened for them. Ah, the good ol' 80's
I'm sure Maiden and Dio will be a great show!
