The Odyssey has nice in-your-face guitar

they are my second favorite band (behind dream theater). Technically, michael romeo destroys just about everyone. Russel has a damn good voice also.

Symphony X are awesome!!! When I was a teenager in the mid '80s, I took lessons from Mike Romeo, sometimes at his house, sometimes at mine. My mom used to say he looked a little like the guy on one poster on my wall (Yngwie Malmsteen). LOL

He one time brought over a video of Michael Angelo and Nitro and showed me the stuff he was doing on his double-axe guitars... then he would take his hand and put in upside down and start playing just like him!

Dude, that's incredible! I can't beleive you took lessons with Mike Romeo! Not even an hour ago I was listening to the live album, they are one of those bands that moves me. I'm so jealous right now.

Took lessons from MR eh? Cool. I think I remember you mentioning that once before. Anyway, so are you as good as him or what?

Yeah, he was a great guy! I haven't seen him in many years, but I discovered him in a music store a couple blocks from my house. The chick who owned the store was a real b1tch (she actually ripped me off one time on a guitar she sold for me on consignment, and I took her to court because of her bounced check) and Mike said he'd rather give me lessons a little cheaper instead of coming in the store and having her make money. He lived across town next to a friend of mine who was in a band and would always jam out in their basement. Too bad I'm nowehere near as good as he is (then again, I played on and off again through the years and didn't practice or progress as much as I could or should have). He did say I was a really good picker for a beginner, though.

I love Symphony X, I listen to them every day now. I'm especially fond of Michael Romeo's rhythm sound.

Shadow Gallery is pretty good too.
