This is Iced Earth's best shot to make it to the next level, and Ripper's chance to
prove himself on his own. He and Jon need each other and can do it together.
Even if they don't go gold, sales of 100,000 copies would triple Iced Earth's
current sales ability and solidify the band's stability as a going concern. I
see that easily happening due to Ripper's
stint with Priest expanding the fanbase.
That'll lead to more and better tours with bigger bands, and the ability to headline in more areas as well, in the USA not just Europe.

I'm listening to Alive In Athens now. Barlow has a very distinctive voice, but I guess I prefer Tim's approach a little bit more. Great band, either way.

I'm very excited about this but let me clarify for you guys, as per an interview with Eddie Trunk (Local NY rock DJ) Jon Schaffer says Ripper just sang on the album and has not accepted the offer to be a member yet. His status in IE is still up in the air at this time, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I thought everything was top notch except the vocals. He can sing, but I just didn't like how he delivered and like Venom said I heard the Creatures of the night cover and thought. "He sounds like a plugged up Paul Stanly".

Those clips are KILLER! Ripper seems to have finally found his own voice. I loved him in Priest but didn't like Priest's new stuff.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I hated Barlow's voice. At times he sounds like a retarded Paul Stanley (can you tell I'm not a Kiss fan?). IE's music is killer but I think Barlow ruined a lot of songs for me. I like his screams but that's about it.

But Ripper...holy crap he flat out sounds amazing on these songs. I hope he stays in IE full time and that they finally get their big US break soon.
