Re: Roope 2nd guitarist for COB temp ...

Thanks bro..LMAO @ Hatecrew comment
I haven't been on mainly cause I feel kind of embarrest(sp?) cause I don't own a real Jackson (YET!!) I don't really think my Hondo RR would cut it

I've been in talks with someone about trading my old comic book collection for a RR3 though,so hopefully,*knocks on wood*,that deal works out

That would be cool, but don't let your Jacksonless state keep you away, bro!
Half the folks here don't own Jacksons, I
bet. Of course those who do probably have enough to equal out to at least 1 per board member. As for Hondo, both Hondo and Jackson were both owned by IMC at one time, so it's a step-brother! I had a Hondo set-neck copy of the Santana
SGs that Yamaha made, and that was a nice guitar other than crappy hardware and pickups! That stuff is easy to change though. Snobs are snobs, but don't let 'em bug you! I have 3 Jacksons and 2 Charvels, and only one is a USA, so then
you get the USA snobs. I'll admit I'd love to have all USA models too, but my Model 6 is just as nice as my USA Charvel
Strat and my PS-2, DK-2 and JDR Pro Rev
are all nice imports!

Anyway, glad to see you, and keep on posting!

Thanks bro, this is why I love this place..you guys are too friendly(not a bad thing though) LOL

(Don't mean to hijack the thread,sorry )
Maybe you could help me bro,I'm trying to find any info about my Hondo but with no luck
I tried their main site,Harmony Centeral and many other places and nothing comes up about my guitar!
All I know about it is this, its a Hondo Formula I Series with a sticker on the back, which I assume is the serial number (5040802).Its a damn clone of a RR3 except it has a very weird tremolo, dot inlays and its a neck thru.
Any info is helpful,thanks

Sorry, I don't know much about Hondos; I just knew I got hold of a guitar that was pretty decent and dirt cheap, just happened to say Hondo on the headstock.
Most of 'em are cheapo plywood dogs, which is why the good ones they occasionally made don't get any props.
Even the nice ones have poor hardware and pickups, and most don't want to throw hundreds of dollars into upgrading them either. As wood and wire go though, mine
was as nice as the Yamaha SGs or the Ibanez Artists it was a copy of. If you like it and it looks, plays and sounds good, don't worry about others' views.

It'll be funny when you get your Jackson
RR3 and compare it to your Hondo Formula,
to see which is really the nicer guitar.
Do a blind Jam test and let us know!

Ok man,thanks anyways!
Comparing them will be like apples and oranges though since my Hondo's fretboard has a slight scallope to the frets. The owner before did it but he didn't do a great job I was thinking of getting it re-done by a pro and have them dropped to the "right" depth since I'm interested in trying out this techneque more

Re: Roope 2nd guitarist for COB temp ...

I think Dimmu Borgir is the headliner, followed by Nevermore, then COB, then Hypocrisy; so COB is the second band to go on in the evening. I'm not certain about their slot and Hypocrisy's though,
I just know Nevermore is on right before
Dimmu, who headline.

I'd plan on being there when the doors open to make sure you see COB. I'm making a 500-mile trek to Atlanta to see
the show,so I plan to get there the night before and get a room for 2 nights, then
drive home the 3rd day. What a production, but worth it, dont'cha think?

Definitely worth it!

Actually, I'll see Nevermore and Arch Enemy in Hamburg on September 24th, and Dimmu and Hypocrisy one week later.

Saw CoB when they came here in April, too.

For any NYC regionites on the board: the concert's comin' to the Lamour in Brooklyn 12/12/2003. I don't know why COBHC.com doesn't have it on there, nor does the listing of dates posted above, but check out ticketmaster.com. It's on there, and the tickets are for sale.

[Edit]: In fact, here's the link to the ticketmaster site... it should work- http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/878738

Sweeeeeeeeet! Should be a friggin' kickin' concert. I have some video on here of Alexi 'n Roope doing an instructional sorta' thing. Kickin' stuff. I've gotta' see what's goin' on for then, but more than likely i'll be there.
