Yeah - I'd have to say that glass won't hold water. These guys get a TON of gear from anyone they ask to let them have it, and why wouldn't they? One fan sees their idols playing Les Pauls, and guess what they'll buy - even if they don't "officially" endorse it. They do, however, both still have ESP signature models as far as I have seen, and since they CAN be bought, I'm sure that will continue.

But they do seem to play thosee Les Pauls alot more these days, don't they? [img]graemlins/brow.gif[/img]

I don't get the "safe to play Jacksons" thing...they both had Jacksons when Dave was still with BC Rich. VoiceX3 I think the other Explorer you probably saw was one of his Ken Lawrence custom jobs.

Actually I don't recall seeing James play a single ESP in Denver. He played that german iron cross Les Paul. And teh custom Gibson Explorer. and the Ken Lawrense Koa explorer (that thing is amazing). oh wait...he had teh diamond plate one for Sad but True. but that was it I'm pretty sure.

Metallica's one of the few bands that can
play what they want despite their endorsement deal. ESP doesn't want 'em to leave, and isn't gonna sue them or hassle them over playing other makes, until and unless they DO leave ESP one day. Then they'll probably tie 'em up in court as long as they can.
