  • Gary Moore Live at Montreaux 1990

Love the blues shredding on Texas Strut. Much better than the studio version. And what a killer tone from that wall o' Soldanos. Can't believe I've never seen Gary Moore play live....

seen that one in the shops but haven't decided if I'll pick it up yet. I have a bunch of Gary's concerts on VHS, including the blues show he released where Albert King & Albert Collins joined him onstage. His tone totally overpowered the other two guitarists, which I might've enjoyed at a rock show, but it somehow seemed disrespectful considering the company he was in. I never did get into his blues stuff as much though.

Albert Collins joins him on this one too... and yeah, he overpowers him a bit. Could be the mastering, and not necessarily how it was mixed live. But IMO that was the weakest part of the show. I mean, I appreciate Albert Collins and all, but if I wanted to see Albert play I'd get one of his dvds.
