Nah, I'm not going anywhere. I've still got both of my Professional string-thru Dinky HX models. I've always been into strat shapes more, but my cousin is kind of interested in a star or explorer type shape, so that's why I'm wondering. I think it's cool, but it probably wouldn't look or feel right on me.

What's really funny is the kids at the COB and Sinergy boards don't know that's a Star!! They're calling it a bad
Warrior copy! Of course it's been so long since Stars were made, I guess you can understand it.

I wonder if Roope chose the Star first, or if they didn't want to make him a Rhoads copy too, and wanted to get two dfferent lines out of them. It seems he was able to stall for awhile before having to switch; I commend him for that
rather than complain because he finally did switch. I bet his old custom Jacksons are in a bank vault while he's on tour though!

drippy,

I honestly have no idea who this person is. It's just funny that everybody seems to go all bonkers over these people leaving Jackson and, aside from Mustaine, I'm always like...who the hell IS that person? And for everyone INCLUDING Mustaine, I wonder...why would this person be considered so important for Fender to keep on the Jackson list? I look back in the 80s at the Jackson endorsers and a lot of those were actually people you saw in the spotlight, on TV, radio, all over the place all the time. These people I'm hearing about jumping ship now seem like relatively unknown people in relatively unpopular bands. Admittedly, though, I do live under a rock, inside a small burrow, and I like very little of the music going on today, so I might be missing these people in the general media. Now, if, say, the guys in Korn were Jackson endorsers and jumped ship, I'd say that's 2 big, famous players leaving the fold. Or the guys from Nickleback...sure, if they played Jacksons, then switched, I'd see it as probably a mistake on Fender's part to let them go easily, if that was the case. I dunno, maybe these people everyone clamors over leaving Jackson ARE somehow integral to the music scene, maybe they DO influence hundreds of thousands of people to purchase the exact guitar brands that they play in front of the public. It's just funny to hear people go all nuts over artists leaving, and the artist they're talking about is someone I've never even heard of before, that's all.

Alexi and Roope weren't officially endorsed by Jackson anyway, were they?

No, they were endorsed by their local music store. They were, however, listed as Jackson endorsed artists at the Jackson website even after the ESP deal was announced.

Stu, yes you're living under a rock and missing out on some great music and guitarists. As Curt Nobrain and the rest of the Seatle scene ruined the music here in the States in the 90's, Europe just kept on rocking. The metal coming out of Europe today is so far advanced, it puts US music to shame.

Do yourself a HUGE FAVOR!!!!!!!! and go pickup or download the Sinergy CD "To Hell and Back" and you can hear why we are all praising Alexi Laiho and Roope Latvala.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">because Jackson guitars are metal guitars thats bloody why lol come on give me some of what your smoking dude cause nickelback ? **** man thats the farthest thing from metal I have ever seen Korn is even worst they are rap stars with baggy pants !!! Jackson is the biggest guitar company out there that is for only the metal crowd ! real metal ! all those dudes you see on the list that you don't know have put in years of playing and are good musicians , if metal wasn't around at all any more Jackson would be bankrupt ! period ! and alexi and roope are 2 of the biggest names in metal right now [real metal] and Jackson will always be a metal guitar so losing them is a pretty big loss after this US tour with dimmu nevermore and hypocrisy esp will look all the greater and Jackson less but it could have been Jackson all along , oh well ! at least Dimmu still plays em and you'll see em on this tour , but to lose Roope is sad cause he's played Jacksons longer than most of you guys have been born , but with esp waving guitars in their faces for free and Jackson not doing anything about it , **** I'd do it as well a free guitar is almost as good as free beer and pizza lol //Steve

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">no just through the finish distributor [who now carries esp ] Kevin use to just take care of us Canadian and U.S.A guys , the europe dist took care of the rest , they had the same deal we had , guitars at cost but through their local dist so it would have worked out the same prices.//Steve

I love both of the albums, but To Hell and Back might be a bit better for someone listening to them for a first time, its a bit more catchy imo.. the opening song is just incredible. But Suicide by my Side is definetely more technical, I'm not sure which one I like more, both are great.

Yeah, with the Sinergy website gone and
such, it doesn't look good, and Alexi has
gotten Roope a job with COB, like he's loading the life raft.

If Alexi and Roope leave Sinergy, I think
Kinberly should move back to the States and recruit an American lineup. They are great players, but there are plenty of players of that caliber here to choose from. Her voice is more unique than Alexi's guitar playing, bottom line. Then a US tour is just a matter of climbing into the vans and hitting the road. It's also much easier for US bands to tour Europe than vice versa. Nuclear Blast will never bankroll a Sinergy US tour, I
don't think.

yep, they do rip. Kinda the 21st century equivalent to Judas Priest's KK Downing and Glenn Tipton. So if you weren't a fan of Priest at some point in time.. you probably won't dig this.
