Wow! That was great! First time I've seen him with an electric too. He should play electric more often.

Seen him live years ago, he was touring for 'The Journey' and it was awesome. Check it out if you havent, its a great song, never heard the whole album. He played with delay very well and it was awesome to hear. Its funny he's getting popular now, he's always been 'australia's finest' guitar player, but like alot of people that age they absolutely shine on acoustic. His brother plays aswell, Phil Emmanuel.

Thanks, E! That's the first I've seen him play electric.

Anyone who hasn't seen him should check out some of his acoustic vids on Youtube like Over the Rainbow, Classical Gas, Tall Fiddler, etc. It's jawdropping stuff. Here are a couple of really huge videos (you can stream or download) of his appearances on the Woodsongs show. The host is a little hard to take, but Tommy kicks major ass on both of these!

I was wrong, the host is way more than a little hard to take! I recommend downloading so you can skip past his intro tunes.

Can you say total control of ones instrument! Tone was smokin as well. Something about a guy tearing it up on a Tele just makes it twice as cool!

The music video for 'guitar boogie' had him playing the same tele. Its impossible to find on the net though.

Tommy E is the MAN! I heard he just got snatched up by Vai's label. Hopefully he'll get more recognition now, so he'll play the States more often.

he has been on Favored Nations Acoustic for a couple of years now.

if you check out his bio, you'll see he has had a number of gigs over the years playing electric, particularly as a session player for all kinds of rock & pop artists

Wow, really? I'm surprised Vai hasn't done more to push him to the public. After he signed Eric Sardinas, that dude was suddenly everywhere.

Never heard of him either. +1 on his tone and technique. Really tasteful and mature playing. Great guitarist.

Wait 'till you check out his acoustic stuff. The man is an insane classical player (fingerpicking/ chicken picking). He's just one with the instrument and finds the perfect balance between everything. Sometimes I'm listening to something by him and I go to myself: 'such a simple melody/lick, but oh so beautiful' and then you realize what he's doing and you notice it's some pretty complex shapes. That takes talent. "Organic" is what I'm looking for!
