E when your ready to thrown down..let me spank some wood for ya..
Norton..I don't know what NM makes now..but 10 years ago..we would more than double their pay at the same venues....pretty sad really..they were lucky to grab 500 bucks a gig..and nobody was there..I remeber sitting with Jeff, bored out of his mind in a empty bar, at a table ..just peeling the label off his beer..I was tellin' him "dude, you're the shit man!!!"..he just kept sayin'.."Bill, you're nuts"..I just kept telling him , "dude you're as good as anyone, you just keep it up man"..it finally paid off, but not as much as I hoped for..I'm still waiting for them to hit it "big"..at least some airplay..they have songs that could be on the radio..IMO!
My VH Trib played one place back in '97 The Cove in Geneva..and there was 1000+ people there..Iced Earth played the night before..I saw the flyer and thought..."Fuck , I loved this band"..and not even 50 people showed up..metal wasn't a big deal just a few years ago..it just came back into the mainstream in the last 2-3 years.
John and I went to see Joe Stump in 2001..Joe drove far to the venue in the winter , then back home.. there was 5 people there, including John and I..but we got to talkin' to him, great guy..but he put on a show..like if there was 5000 people there...He blazed..but I felt bad for the guy.
