yeah it's "crazy" in some language...
I dig Meshuggah, because they are WEIRD I hate the vocals though.
But this Thordendal's solo project is better IMHO. It has guys from Mats & Morgan playing on it, the coolest swedish experimental jazz band IMO. And well Morgan Agren is out of this world, Haake is badass but Morgan blows him away. He is one of the leading jazz drummers right now and has played with Frank Zappa and Steve Vai (these guys have had drummers such as Terry Bozzio, Vinnie Colaiuta, Chad Wackerman, Mike Mangini, Virgil Donati etc. the biggest lunatics in the world, they are mathematical geniuses concidering what kind of polyrhythms they play) so Morgan is in a BIG league.
Fredrik Thordendal is a kickass jazz musician who is also a big metalhead and plays metal (Meshuggah).
This without "flagging-fagging"
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
that being said, Frederik's biggest influence is this guy

this MAN is untouchable, you see kids playing Yngwie and Loomis solos all the time, but only a handul guys can play this shit and still it's pretty pale compared to the original."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I saw Holdsworth live back in 82 at the paradise club in Boston and I thought my head was going to explode. The guy just sees the fret board in a completely different way than anyone else I've ever seen or heard.
truly in a clas by himself. If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

E ..I also can't stand the vocals..that fuggin' singer really grates on my nerves fast.."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

I'm looking forward to this thread dying a natural death, only to be revived in 6-18 months time by some Trivium fanboy who, on the day of his signing up to the JCF, resurrects it to say "you all fucking suck!!!1 How many albums have you sold? Matt Heafy is the greatest metal vocalist since that dude from Crazytown"Hail yesterday

Feh, I have a fairly wide taste in music, I know what I enjoy & I'm not "exclusive" - I got tickets to the Trivium gig in April '07 in Portsmouth (UK). I'll enjoy it - I enjoyed the last one. I wish Nevermore would play over here though. I missed out on Meshuggah at Download the year before last - cracking band, great guitarist. Maybe Trivium were marketed into their current position, but as long as people are enjoying what they do, what's the biggie? To be honest, really good guitarists are common - Youtube is full of them. I only wish I were half as good as some. Why begrudge someone a bit of success?Wal - Good from far, but far from good
