So, ah, you knew it was stolen when you bought it?

He is definitely an incredible guy to watch. Stupidly quick. But has anyone noticed his consistency in really bad haircuts? Its terrible!

Unless Michael had 2 of those guitars, that is not the same one.

Re: Michael Angelo Batio

Actually no, I did not no it was stolen when I bought it. Only after I researched it. I mean look at the guitar it is pretty unique how many of you guys have seen something like that hanging at a pawn shop or a guitar shop.

Well as far being taken for, I did not know what I bought and the pawn shop did not know what they had, therefore I was not taken. And yes regardless, what you guys think. I have more pics that identify key features from the original guitat and its maker, Wayne (Richard) Charvel. I even contacted Michael Charvel and he confirmed it.

The guitar was built by Wayne Charvel, while he worked for gibson. Eventually, when Wayne started another venture named Ritz, the necks were changed over to Ritz necks. If you see some of the video that Angelo has out you notice he was a Ritz endorser. I had never even heard of Ritz when I bought the guitar, but it still had a Gibson USA neckplate. The necks were both 7 string necks, apparently for a High A, not a low B.

As for the difference in alignment of the bodies, which is probably why many of you think it is not the same guitar. The bodies are attached to an aluminum plate using 4 screws. Remember this guitar was originally a quad neck. I am assuming that that I either got the plate for the bottom guitars or you need both plates for the guitars to align properly.

Check these pics. Notice the 6 string humbuckers on a 7 string neck.

How can you be "taken" for buying that guitar at $475?!? Its a cool guitar. If you guys can find em cheaper than that, please let me know where it is so I can be taken too.............

Re: Michael Angelo Batio

Well, look at it this way: If he still had it, he'd be knowingly in possession of stolen goods. He could never cop to HAVING owned it until after he sold it, or he'd have had to give it back to Michael Angelo, right?

Keith,
Do you have any contact info for the British guy that bought the guitar from you? If so, I think you should let Mr. Batio know.

I will see Michael at NAMM again; I'm sure he'd be very interested in the whereabouts of (part of) this guitar.

It's been over a year now and my computer has crashed since then so I don't have any of the emails. I remember he had the same name as one of the members from The Verve, I even asked him if he was a member but he said no. He was a studio musician. That's all I remember.
