lately my favorite tone is Jim Matheos on Fates Warning's "Disconnected"...especially the tone on "Still Remains"...but the tone i find myself striving for th3e most is Uli Roth's tone on "Taken by Force."

I dig Jerry Cantrell's tone on Dirt and the new songs that AIC did for their box set best, but I also like The Pete's tone on Bouncing Souls' How I Spent My Summer Vacation, Mark Knopfler's tone, George Lynch's tone on Back for the Attack, Jade Puget's tones (new and old), James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett's tones on this bootleg from 1986 that I have, Jon Donias and Matt Balchand's tones, Avenged Sevenfold's tones on their latest album, and so forth. Also my bud Scott gets a mean medium-gain tone.
