Well i had to post about last night. I went to London last night to see Metallica, it was a pretty cool gig. Godsmack were supporting, they weren't too bad. Good entertainers especially the revolving drums and the singer and drummer both doing drum solo's, at the same time and in time. Now Metallica were alot better than i thought they would of been. Ever song had a solo including the new songs from St Anger (Kirk should of put those solos on the album). I didn't see any Jackson's but i saw quite a few Gibsons. I think the only bummer of the night was the stewards/security, they must really like spoiling peoples fun. Especially when the band is playing your favourite song and getting in the way of the view because your not standing about a centimetre from where he would like you to stand, what an asshole!.

Re: Metallica last night
They're in the US this spring, and I'm pumped. As soon as they announce East Coast tour dates, I'm there!
Metallica live fucking reigns... I don't care if you like St. Anger or not. Most of their set list is classic stuff anyway. Too cool to be missed, for sure. Thanks for posting your review! What was the song-by-song setlist?

Re: Metallica last night
I saw Metallica and Godsmack 6-12-2003 in the netherlands.. Godsmack is really boring.. all the songs are identical to me..
Metallica was better than expected actually. although near the end they seemed kinda tired..
this was our setlist:
Battery
Fuel
Seek and Destroy
Fade to Black
The Thing that Should Not Be
Frantic
Creeping Death
The Unnamed Feeling
Sad But True
One
Blackened
Harvester Of Sorrow
Nothing Else Matters
Master Of Puppets
St. Anger
Enter Sandman
So What
Whiplash
pretty cool setlist I think..
Metallica is coming here again in June.. with Slipknot and Korn as support act! hahaha, I won't see that show

Re: Metallica last night
I went to see James & co. in Oslo 2nd and 3rd December, with godsmack supporting. I'm not really familiar with their music, but I had heard "I stand alone" and "straight out of line" before, those are cool songs. I also digged the singer-drummer dual drum solo! That dude rips playing drums
what was kinda cool was that they changed the setlist for the second night, but to me the first night was by far the best....it was also the first date of the european tour, I suppose they may have been more rested and energized than usual.
anyway here's the set for the first night:
Blackened
The Four Horsemen
Seek and Destroy
Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Frantic
Sad But True
The Unnamed Feeling
Harvester Of Sorrow
Master Of Puppets
Battery
--------------
St. Anger
Nothing Else Matters
Creeping Death
--------------
One
Enter Sandman
-------------
Blitzkrieg
Hit The Lights

Re: Metallica last night
I got to thinking...(yeah, that's a rarity)...is there anything this band could do to win me back? We had a lot of great years together starting in 1982 or so. I guess somewhere in my heart I'll always have some feelings for them....or do I? I don't know anymore. It's like a great relationship with a woman that goes to total hell at the end....you want remember the good times but what's the point? I'm just too soured and jaded now.
Ok, I'm tired of thinking now.
