it must be different over here, because it seems to me that the 2nd single (Going Under) gets a lot more airplay.

But yea, dickwad was just a guest vocalist for that track.

Awww man G ...My wife heard me listening to kind of stuff for some time now..I bough The Gathereing's "manylion" and the my fave ..."Nightime Birds"...that's stuff is awesome!!

Then they started to suck ...

Really good guitarists with heavy female death vocals....check it out if you like Kalmah , Forsaken , COB..etc.

Evanescence are good for a quick fix i guess, i cant listen to them for more than 10 minutes, its just friggin boring, nothing epic.

Bill, I put the guitar down for a couple of years and sort of stopped listening to music. Not totally, of course, but I just didn't keep up like I did back in school.

Then when I met the wife, she didn't like my music at all, so I'd never put it on when she was around. No real problem, I'm a nightowl so I have hours every evening to myself after everyone goes to bed. But a couple of years ago, I said "ah fuck it" and started playing what I wanted to in the car and around the house. That's why it's a recent development that my heavier tastes are starting to rub off on her. Although, I never stopped listening to Living Colour, so she's VERY familiar with their back catalogue [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

The rap guest vocals were the record company's "idea" (meaning order) and since Evanescence were nobodies at that point, they did what they were told so they wouldn't have to go back to playing church events and high school dances.

I think people liked them more 6 months ago because they weren't as yet bored with the repetitious music. I do think their next CD will tell the story, and Amy would be smart to get a talented guitarist for next time, and PUT IN SOME SOLOS, DAMMIT!

I've mentally composed some good, tasteful and concise solos to some of their songs though; since there're none there, my brain came up with 'em!

I don't resent Amy's success versus Lacuna Coil, but it's sad that Evanescence is platinum while Lacuna Coil's success is barely such that Cristina only recently quit her TWO jobs as a secretary and a barmaid. That is really a shame, but at least she CAN finally quit them.

Oh, and VG, I agree about Martina Axen of Drain S.T.H., but any of those girls would do nicely!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Well, I guess I will go against the flow again. I like them. I like their album. Every song is good. I especially like the ballad and the remix of it. The production value is excellent and Amy is super hot and has a great voice. So there...
