I'm dissapointed about Marty, Ellefson and Menza not being there, but Poland is back. And there's finally new material...and a book deal...and remixes. Finally, Mustaine returns. Long live the king.

Very cool!!

"I will be at NAMM Saturday, January 17th, with my new ESP DV8s and LTD DV8Rs and I expect I will meet some of you there."

Hmmm, everybody go and bring their Jacksons and see if he'll autograph them. We'll see how cool he is then and what he has to say about them.

Re: An update from Dave Mustaine

Cool that he's working with Chris Poland again. Being that Peace Sells is my favorite Megadeth album, I tend to think of Chris as "the Megadeth lead guitarist" before I think of Marty that way, even though Marty was obviously in the band much longer.

I wonder if the record companies were saying "Hmm, Dave, a solo album...great. Say, by the way, do you have anymore Megadeth material??"

PS: I'm happy that Poland joined Megadeth,Friedman turned to be an a**hole in this last period if you ask me ....

Re: An update from Dave Mustaine

Really got the hopes up when the RIP lineup was mentioned but crushed a second later

But MAN! Chris Poland!!!
Weird how Jr turned it down and Marty and Nick have seemed like they wanted to do something like this lately.

"Some kind of bullshit
I am aware of the Metallica movie; I noticed how much footage they used and to whom it benefited, too. "This is about relationships," huh? Yeah, right."

What's he talking about? What Metallica Movie

Yeah, I'd like to have seen the RIP lineup back, but I'm sure Poland will do a great job. Megadeth makes more sense than Dave solo because (A) It's basically the same thing; and (B) The name Megadeth will sell a lot more.

It is all good news, and good to see Dave
is still unafraid to speak his mind on matters of beliefs and music. If Pillar
is the "Christian Linkin Park" and Dave likes them, it doesn't mean it'll change
Megadeth's music. It just means he likes a wide range of music; nothing wrong with that.
Ron is the MAN!!!!

Re: An update from Dave Mustaine

He should bring back Al Pitrelli and Jimmy DeGrasso! Just watch the Rude Awakening dvd. Al nails Marty's tone pretty well. I love everything Megadeth's done (well, except the Risk album), but RIP, Cryptic Writings and The World Needs A Hero are my favorites. Chris is not only a great lead player but, he had some very cool riffs on Return to metalopolis".

It would be cool if the two wrote some stuff together.

For those who have only heard Chris play on Megadeth albums need to check out his solo stuff.

His bro is a excellent drummer too.

Listen to the spanish solo in Holywars on Rude awakening and then listen to it on woodstock 99 BIG Difference

Oh it said tone...

well no there too...

Marty had Daves rig + ALOT of other stuff
Al ONLY had Daves rig, so he was covered for the rhythm and not the Leads which were lacking at times, especially Holywars spanish solo (again yes )

But they friggin ROCKED!!
