      This could be true..but NOBODY sweep picked or cared about arps until Yngwie hit the scene..then everyone was doing them..and still are..

      Uli was already doing them years before..but it was Yngwie that brought it to the masses!

          I think Bill is right on with his 3, just maybe the wrong terms. He says Jimi, VH, and Yngwie are the most influential, I would say they had the most impact on guitar playing. I think Page and Ace probably inspired more teens to pick up the guitar in the first place but Yngwie had more of an impact on the guitar world in terms of sending people who already play back to the drawing board, scratching their heads. Just like VH and Jimi did before him.

                  sure chicks know Van Halen, but I was talkin' about how Ed inspired me to become a cool mofo and badass rock'n'roll guitar player, it's all about the attitude, when I played gigs with a band I even painted one of my guitars like Ed did, it got plenty attention


                  btw. I did some fireworks too, like Ace :P
