I can understand the guy retiring that axe, that is like Ed and his original Frankenstrat, he wouldn't take that one on tour any more, its much cheaper and much less worry to use free endorsement copies instead of numero uno. Easily replaced.

Have you worn out your Jackson? Now I know firsthand that that task takes quite a bit of time and effort to say the least. Unless you really want to break the thing, like with a chainsaw or something [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] But then again why the hell would you do that to a finely tuned instrument if sonic destruction????????

Cheers for all the replies folks, I've got the "War at the Warfield" and he's clutching an ESP all the way through it (more's the pity).

Shame he's not playing the Soloist any more but if it is true that he head to retire it then that's one hell of a beating it must have taken, much respect for having given a guitar that amount of abuse.

I wonder how many ESPs get retired after each Slayer tour? He always seems to have a new batch ...

Just found it kind of interesting. I've done my share of research on WW2, and find history very interesting and important to know, so I'm not making any judgements on Jeff or the band. All I wanted to do was find out if anyone can/did see this like I did.

Hanneman collects (or used to collect) WW2 and Nazi memorabilia. He is not a Nazi.

I, like Jeff it seems and others I'm sure, also collect memorobillia from WW2 and WW1, which is why it caught my eye initialy.
