Seriously guys, it's all cool. We all have our own little vices, and when someone triggers one, it ends up like this. Whatever though, Kurt did what he did, and so did Randy. Personally, the concept of 'guitar god' was never really a defined one in my head, so I just have guitarists I like more.

Look at it this way, Cobain made money, Rhoads was good, but there are loads of guitarists none of us here have heard of that blow them out of the water. If you're talking about talent, it's not even worth mentioning Randy if you're encompasing styles like flamenco. If you go into shred, why mention someone like Jeff Loomis when there is Jason Becker?
There is always someone better, and someone more 'god like'.

Seriously though, if one person idolizes someone, then they're looking up to their god. Which could make ANYONE a guitar god.

Siggy...I NEVER put Kurt or any other music down...I simply gave my "opinion" of what I thought the criteria should be for "hero" status...I want pissed at you in my original response.

I was looking at this like...Who deserves to be Knighted...Ya know? Not just..."Hey you inspired me to play"...I was thinking like..."You inspired, innovated and took it to the next level of your time" kind a thing...Does that make sense? I got knighted last night my some dudes cane in the crowed...Right in mid solo he taped my one each shoulder...How cool is that!? I'M A GODDDDDDD!!!!

Not to derail things, but I think the problem is people treat him liek a guitar god. He wasnt a spectacle player and he knew it. Stil lcould right soem cool riffs. As for othe deceased guitarist, it would be kidna nice to see a list and mabye mention what sogn made the mfamous.

The lost RR guitar article should be interesting. It's supposed to be the white NAMM "missing link" guitar that the JCF01 guitars were based on. The guy is supposedly going to put it on the market after the issue runs. He has pics from the GW photo shoot here:

My issue arrived today. Went right to the RR missing link story. Very interesting, although the guy made it sound as if he has no plans to sell the guitar anytime soon.

Is the logo on the "lost" White RR correct? That logo looks production style, though I don't know the whole story.

According to the story, the logo on that guitar is hand painted.
