Re: cool new band - Firewind

HOLY SHIT!!!!! These guys fucking ROCK!!! Why the hell haven't I heard this before? I just went to CDNOW.com and listened to Firewind and Dream Evil. Not to mention that video on Firewind's website. DAMN!

I'm buying this! If I buy off CDNOW, does the band make money or do I have to go to their record label. I know if I buy used they wouldn't. I wanna make sure these guys are around for awhile. I am a little disappointed to hear that Firewind has a new lead singer. That guy in the video has a killer voice.

I listened to Nightrage too. Too much growling. I like some like Sepultura style (Max) but that wasnt my cup o tea.

Please reply soon cause I cant wait to order these 4 cd's.

I found more small clips of Firewind's songs. I'm pretty impressed. I think I will be trying to hunt down their albums.

I've got Burning Earth. It's pretty good. I think the lyrics are wanting a bit, but the vocals are strong & Gus G's playing is phenomenal.

I'm looking forward to hearing the new singer. The last guy was good, but his voice didn't really do much for me. Nothing to do with his ability, just a question of tone really.

Check out The Fire and The Fury. It starts out a rip-snortin' instrumental, and then halfway through transforms into a beautiful, lyrical solo. Not only does Gus G have MEGA chops, he's a seriously tasteful player too.

I ahve both Firewind CDs and Dream Evils Dragonslayer cd. I actually prefer the Dream Evil CD. I like the lead singers voice better. I've already got some friends into both bands. I really wanna spread the word aout these guys. We need more stuff like this here in the USA!

Did anyone see who produced their CD?

                David T. Chastain.

You guys need to stop by the Bill Z Bub thread more often ..

You want Gus G ...Mystic Prophecy is another one of his bands ....there is two albums out....Dream Evil's is kinda Gay thanks to the singer .."Evilized" is a better album ..more serious than thier debut .."heavy Metal Jesus "...makes me shudder !!!

If you like Firewind ...then Check out Kenziner "Timescape" w / Firewind vocalist

Last Tribe - Magnus Carlsson ...burries Gus G..on his best day

So does Olaf Lenk of At Vance

and Nilsson of Space Odessy and Majestic and Time Requiem..

also get the Armada "rage of the armada"...

                  thank me later

Anyway, Gus G. is from Greece, the drummer is Norwegian, they have a new vocalist from Greece (who has yet to record anything with them), I don't remember where their bass player is from but I think he's from the US. Their website seems to be down right now.

Actually Evilized was the first CD. They have a new one coming out in May. 3 CDs in 3 yrs not bad! I happen to like his voice... It's nice to be able to understand the vocals. He also has great range!

Dayum! Thanx Rune for this thread. Never heard of them before and checked out the video "I Am The Anger". Killer stuff. Definitely had a classic metal sound. Singer's voice reminds me of Metal Church. Too bad he's not with them anymore. His voice was made for that style. I'll definitely be checking them out!
My future band shall be known as "One Samich Short Of A Picnic"!
