how about.....the product itself representing what Jackson is all about?
He's a rising star (or should be) and a virtuoso. And that's the type I'd like to see Jackson connect with.

Morton and that whole metal crowd are all fabulous players, but their influence is very limited. What J/C needs is a big time player that's more mainstream. Someone that's in a commercially succesfull hard rock band...if such a thing even exists anymore.

That would be great having the two of them be the frontrunners of Jackson... but sadly, his ESP looks like dogshit, and I like about 50% of the ESP's I've seen!

very good point. Although Lamb of God becoming quite well known, they still don't have that mainstream recognition

The same can be said for all those shredders/virtuosos/etc that folks suggest as a spokesperson. Rusty Cooley, Troy Stetina and friends are marvellous players but who on the street would recognise their names? You might as well have Galder. :p

You're right about the limited scope of a virtuoso. However, they tend to have a more loyal fan base of guitarists who continue to follow their careers long after regular fans have forgotten about most bands.

I'd like to see Jackson work with one or more of these guys; if he's not touring or recording, put him on a clinic tour, shredding away on his signature Jackson for other guitarists. It helps promote both him and Jackson, and it also lends legitimacy to the company - and in Jackson's case, fits well with the company's history of making shredder guitars.

ESP has been having what I believe will be short-term success with new (nu) metal bands (they obviously have long-term endorsers, too). Ibanez had that kind of success with rap metal, but continues to have long-term success with Vai and Satriani, and is continuing to support guys like Andy Timmons. I'd like to see Jackson get in on that success.

They need an established player with credibility and who still is current.

I don't even know who would fit the bill, but I haven'e seen anyone close except for Loomis...and he is not mainstream enough.
