History - I'm sure you'll have something smartass to say about a liberal arts major!

I have a couple of nice neckthrough Yamaha RGXs that were made in Taiwan, so I don't disdain Made in Taiwan guitars myself. Maybe you shouldn't look down on your own country.

The 'u' for 'you' thing was my point, and your new pal Newc has ranted against the same thing, since you're sniffing his butt right now I just thought you'd want to know. I guess if you're chatting with other kids it's fine, it just looks immature to adults though.

mm history... that explains it

er... I look down on my own country...? I still hold the taiwanese passport PROUDLY even tho I had many oppurtunities to get other passports?

and sniffing butt? wow ur inferring ability is so amazingly extensive that its also amazingly wrong.. I really feel like saying evil things about what they taught u in ur major but I'll refrain myself

yes... all the friends I chat with are about my age. I have a few teachers, older adults that im very good with too but they don't really chat.

so exactly how old and mature are u huh (I don't really want to know don't answer), arguing and taunting with a kid who's trying to be cool by typing u instead of you.

ok this exchange should end here, I wouldn't respond to anything more.. sorry admins and other good ppl on the board for filling this thread with BS... thanks for all ur comments.

Re: What\'s so good about petrucci?

Regarding Petrucci, one thing you have to give him is that he has his OWN identity. That counts for alot in my book. He can shred and he can play melodiously. On the latest DT, track "Stream of Consciousness" yes he plays insanely fast but, I hear such FIERCE melody and passion in his soloing. Love that tune!

What is this "Paradigm Shift" a few of you have mentioned? Is it a song?

Petrucci happens to be one of my favorite players of all time. He can kick a lot of players asses when it comes to accuracy and feel in a live situation. Don't ever judge a guitar player from a polished studio recording, you don't know how great of a musician they are until you see them play live on stage. He is truly among the best. If you think you're going to surpass his level of musicianship in 5 years of playing you are setting yourself up for a huge dissapointment my friend. If I'm wrong I too would really like you to post some of your work here so we can hear it.
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

Whoa...anyone who ever THINKS petrucci isnt good should just be hanged. He is a damn master...of tecnique and theory. Have you even heard the new DT album?? its crazy as hell. Excellent playing and amazing tecnique. And the dude who started this post was comparing him to yngwie and the likes- thats moronic. Petrucci and DT are masters of composition and arrangement...NOT MINDLESS SCALED SHREDDING. Now dont get me wrong, shredders kick ass, they just live their lives in a box. Petrucci doesnt. End of story.
