how do i get a tone like rusty cooley,mike angelo???

i want my lead tone to sound similar to these guys, Rusty cooley, Mike angelo. i know alot of it is in the fingers but i still want to know.
do they use chorus, flange or any other effects? if so which effects and what settings on the effects. i dont need the exact tones or anything just somthing close. [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] im used to not using any effects other than a little delay and reverb. a have a digitech genetix 1 processor and want to try out the effects but I dont know what to set them to to sound good. thanx for any info [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

most of the big guys use booster distortion or overdrive pedals before their amp heads... and they have killer pickups....

basically this means u have to spend around 2000 at least just one gear other than guitar... hahahaha....

tho look into good modelers,, they're much cheaper... like PODs, and I've heard really great stuff about tech21 sansamp stuff, GT2 and tri ac.. I bought the tri AC but it still hasn't arrived yet!!! [img]images/icons/mad.gif[/img] and my kelly hasn't arrived yet either!!! [img]graemlins/evilimages/icons/tongue.gif[/img]

Do a Google search on each artist whose sound you like. Their websites, fansites and guitar mag interviews will come up if they exist. Most players' sites will have a gear FAQ where you can get the info on that guy.

Even if you don;t have the same gear, if you have gear capable of some of the same sounds in general, you can get close. Mt is right, a lot of guys run a boost into their head to slam the amp's input and for a solo boost.

Use the same techniques in general; I have a BOSS SD-1 that I use as many use a Tube Screamer. Does basically the same thing for a lot less. Fact is, having all the same gear as your idol won't give you his exact sound; the player is the intangible ingredient. Getting close is
inspirational though.

thanx guys, i have been to these guys and many other sites, ive seen what gear they use but no way can i afford that stuff [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img] anyway, i still cant find settings for effects.
