    I never liked van Hagar, though I saw 5150 tour. The funny thing is I just saw Sammy Hagar at the Salt Palace tonight 3/24/2004 at a free concert, playing w/ his band the waboritas, It was a ton of fun, Sammy's vocals were on, and I didn't ever care for him before. Also, he said he'd be back w/ a 'surprise' for us this summer. His band was cool. They didn't shred, but they were on and damn it was fun.. The lady playing Bass did a really good Michael Anthony backup vocal, and the dude on guitar (Vic Tyson?) was solid. Drums were tight, and FREE BEER too! There were about 4-5000 in attendance believe it or believe it not.... Wish I brought a camera, If anyone cares I'll try to get some picks from some people that took 'em tomorrow

        Hey, I goofed, the place Sammy played was the 'Delta Center' and the guitarist for sammy's band is 'Vic Johnson'. After seeing that show, I think Sammy should let Ed be the miserable POS he's become and continue to Rock. He did a few VH songs, but he covered 'Everybody must get stoned' and played Heavy Metal, Montrose, and some early Solo Stuff (Can't drive 55). His 'mars' song and a few other new ones that were fun. This was a rolling party, rock the way it should be and he don't need no ***** Ed and Alex bringing him down (or me).

          That's what Dave said and bailed ...then did Eat 'em and Smile which fuckin' smoked ANYTHING VH was doing ....but The FUCK and some of Balance was cool..and Balance came out almost ten years ago.

          This is going to be pathetic ..Ed is just a pathetic shell of the greatness he used to be ..

          Mark my words on and this date ...it's going to suck ...you'll see.

            FACT: The best vocal work Sammy Hagar ever did was on the first Montrose album in the early Seventies.

              So, after Two and Fight did you expect Rob Halford to:
              a. Open a guys only S&M shop in Vegas (not that there's anything wrong with that) [img]graemlins/nono.gif[/img]
              b. Put out two solid metal albums, back them with sucessful tours, and re-enlist with Priest

                I gave Van Halen many chances to redeem themselves for the last 10 years ,,,and they have NOT delivered a damn thing wortha squirt of piss in my book..and he was younger , cancer free and had his shit together ...well kinda back then

                  Yea I agree, Van Halen sucks. I would much rather listen to **insert this weeks flavor** bang on their drop C tuned guitars and growl and howl over their ripping solos.

                  Give me Jorne Lande and horns666 any day of the week. I must hear people calling in to the local radio shows and emailing their local promoter, begging for that awesome combo.

                  Hell do a search on google for "Jorne Lande and horns666". I bet you get 10's of hits of for their fan clubs !!!! [img]images/icons/tongue.gif[/img]

                    Maybe you guys should step back and take this whole thing from a different perspective. I'm 16, and the only VH I've seen has been from watching videos of them.
                    So what if their new stuff is gonna suck or not, I'd be willing to bet anything that new material ISN'T the only thing that they'd be playing if they toured, wouldn't you? In fact, I think they would play more of their old tunes more-so then new. Don't you think that they would play the stuff that people know them for; You really got me, On fire, Aint talkin' bout love, ect?
                    I agree with you guys, and personally think that they went down hill after Unlawful, but that wouldn't stop me from going to see them at all. Who cares? I'd spend the full price just to see Ed tune-up.
                    Everyone talks about how they started because of Ed, well I just can't understand why you wouldn't want to go see him and support the reason you picked up a guitar.

                      I dunno... Ed's a cocky guy and probably said some bold things, but at least he's had some commercial/critical success and actually posts... I mean records stuff to back it up. [img]graemlins/eyes.gif[/img]

                      People grow and mature... well must people do. [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Do you really want to see a 50 yr old Dave trying to be a studly front man or Eddie playing songs about cruising and picking up chicks? I don't. That day has passed. Eddie is a gifted musician and the band is really tight, so I'm looking forward to what they have to say. Also, I've seen Hagar solo and it was a damn entertaining show.

                            I got the Two cd somewhere, I don't think I ever listened to the whole thing. John Lowery (aka John 5 in Marilyn Manson's band, was a studio player for years, toured with kd lang and some other people) is a really great guitar player, though!                               Yeah Joe he's on David Lee Roth's DLR album ...that actually is his best playing ...he get's to flex his muscles in the shred dept and he is very good!

                              Too bad it was on a DLR album...he's such a friggin tool now.

                                Oh yeah, I forgot he played with DLR, too. I never got any of Dave's solo albums except for Eat 'Em And Smile.
