Randy's voice sounds really good on the new album, more actual singing mixed in with his scream/growl, but I didn't think his voice was all that great on the show.

calling Randy's efforts on the last album "singing" is a bit of a stretch, but his voice is certainly getting less one dimensional and more melodic.

fwiw, I really enjoyed what he did on the last album. But I like everything they've done so far.

looking forward to the Conan appearance. Not sure when it'll be on here, so I'll have to watch every episode for the next few nights. It's always interesting to see how a metal band will sound on a low volume tv set. Anyone see that Iron Maiden appearance on Top Of The Pops on the 12 Wasted Years video? It was still Maiden, but you could tell how quiet they were playing - no bite from the guitars

I like LoG but I have to say I think that solo is a bit crap. Its just basic blues soloing and I don't think it works too well in that context.
It must be weird for a band like that to play for that kind of crowd.

just finished watching it on tv here. I thought Mark's solo rocked, camera angles were much better for checking out his guitar than Willie's new ESP, but that's fine by me

Randy's vox were what they are. Guitars were a little low in the mix, but I wonder if that's more a product of the low volume tv studio environment and the sheer power generated from the drums

                Light show was good too.

Overall, I thought it rocked. Looking forward to see them in April

Same here. Not a fan of the "two day old phlegm I'm trying to cough up combined with the I'm pushing a big load" vocals at all which seems to be the trend as of late. Guitar sound was pretty cool though.

Same result here. How do they find out about this so quickly? They must have cronies scanning the airwaves at all times.
                      Cheers!
