I always like Vitto too, but I could never get into "White Lion".
Too syrupy "pop" for me.
Vitto could definitely play back then, I hope his hand or wrist or whatever
he injured has healed and he can play again. If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Vito was one of the few "second generation" 80's guitarists who actually had his own voice on the instrument. He was a monster player with both great tone and chops.
I had read that he got into software development and put down the guitar for several years. When he started palying again, he didn't take the time to ease into it...he started right back with wide stretches and difficult fingerings and developed a condition where he could no longer physically play. That was about 5-6 years ago and I haven't heard anything since.
I hope we see him back on the scene!

I read in a guitar book he once hurt his hand while playing guitar and watching tv at the same time. His arm was at an "unnatural angle", I guess he was laying down and resting his arm against the side of the couch, or something like that. Not sure if he had to stop playing because of that, I just thought it was strange.. TV is dangerous after all"This ain't no Arsenio Hall show, destroy something!"

i grew up around the corner from Greg D'Angelo their drummer, he was always a great player from like the 4th grade on, there were a lot of little rockers in our town, but I remember him telling me he'd go in , do his tracks and when it was time for Mike to sing it was like "i'm tired, I have to go home now"-lol
I wasn't too up on his voice either, but Vito wrote some catchy stuff, he had no singer to make it stand out.Not helping the situation since 1965!

I was into White Lion as a kid, but now that stuff just does not hold up any more. I saw them live in like 1987 or so at L'Amour.
I also thought Bratta took most of his style from EVH, to the point where I was not as impressed with him, he tried to look and play too much like Eddie for my taste.the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I dont either, and I honestly think vito was a better player then EVH and prefered his solo's over Eddie's any day. Not to say there is anything wrong or i hate Eddie's solo's, I just like Vito's better.
Now in defense of VH, I could dig more then one CD by them, where White lion I only liked the pride CD. But at the same time By 89 I was into heavier music and i never heard there previous stuff. I wasnt a big enough fan to go out and buy it all. So with that being said maybe I should go and get some of the earlier stuff by WL.
