I just listened to the whole interview. Vito seems like a pretty humble, genuine guy. I absolutely loved White Lion due solely to him. If you go back and listen to some of the White Lion stuff, pay close attention to his rhythm work. He was obviously a great lead guitarist but his rhythm work was just unreal. His rhythms were really intricate/busy and done so tastefully. I think he and Nuno were two of the best rhythm guitarists of their era.
It was great hearing from Vito and I hope he decides to put something out in the very near future.

The thing Vito had over EVH is melody in his solos and playing style.

I use to love to here those solos. As far as the songs of the band I always thought Wait was superb back in the day.

Vito Rocked, I hope he still can play like he did.. Anyway.. I saw them Live, (Pride tour, They opened for Aerosmith) Met them @ the Local Guitar store in Johnson City TN a day before the show, They Gave us Backstage passes, very cool group of guys, very cool show.. We hung out w/ them @ the Holiday Inn the Day before the Show too. I heard he was just fed up w/ the Whole Music industry's Shit.. So many rumors floating around, guess I had better listen to the interview.. Anyway, Glad He's Back.. Loads of Talent.

Absolutely. I would put the Little Fighter solo in at least my Top 20 solos of all time.

As for the VH comparison, their first hit was "Wait" and almost the entire solo was tapped (beautifully, I might add). I remember some people calling him an EVH clone at the time. I didn't agree, though. To this day, I just cant see Eddie playing the Wait solo. It's more melodic than any Eddie solo I've ever heard.

Eddie has a fantastic melodic sense, one of the best in fact, but he perfers jazzy swinging more.
I don't think Wait is more melodic than let's say Ed's Can't Stop Loving You.
Vito's melody on Wait is actually very EVH-ish. A lot of Steve Vai's melodies are from EVH. It's just that Ed doesn't really use his melody that much, his followers use his melodic style a lot more than he.

Vito apparently was a complete EVH fanatic who could play every VH tune note for note. I hear EVH all over Vito's work. Listen to Radar Love, he pulls out every trick from the VH bag in that solo, the "harmonic trill trick" the bends with taps, etc. I don't think he was a clone by any stretch, but his roots were solidly in the EVH camp. I see Vito as the natural evolution of EVH's style. Vito took that basic foundation, made it his own, and then expanded it. He was EVH version 2.0.

He was also, amazing. I am an EVH nut, so I always loved Vito. He also seems like a really genuine person, not caught up in the B.S. Ed could learn a lesson or two from Vito.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Oh, also...let's tell Vito, Don't give up. If we all join hands, we can get through the lonely nights..maybe even get some sweet little lovin' while we're at it, because all you need is rock and roll, right?
