One uses real Jacksons, one uses knock-offs

    (well, they both do now)

Megadeth's one of my favorite bands and I'm one of the few people I know who can't stand Metallica.

Just because of Lars i'd have to say Megadeth...

I'd expand on my thoughts of Lars but he'd probably sue me. :ROTF:

If I had to pick 1 album between both bands...probably "Peace Sells"...Chris Poland was amazing and Gar was great as well. I've always had a hard time deciding if I liked "Master" better or "Ride". The thing about "Ride" is that awesome "classic" rawness before the polished "Master" production. Kind of like the comparison between "Piece of Mind" and "Powerslave." And yeah, Dave still wrote a lot of the best riffs on even Metallica's second album Both bands did a lot of amazing stuff. I'm grateful for both of em'. And of course...there will always be Cliff Burton...

I've always been more of a Megadeth fan, but I prefer James' voice over Dave's. I like Dave's voice, just not as much. And even though Marty is great, Chris Poland was always better.

Man, hard question...It all depends on what era we're talking about, before Rust in Peace, I'd say Metallica.

James' voice has always been better than Dave's, but each is great in its own way.

But yeah, tough one. Not to purposefully use a Metallica title, but, it's all in the eye of the beholder(or ear ).

Megadeth. Regardless of who the other guitarist was at any point in time, Dave Mustaine always seemed to write songs really suited to two guitars. In contrast, most Metallica songs have such clearly defined rhythm and lead parts that they don't hold my interest as much. Also, I especially like the vibe that songs like "Go to Hell" and "Five Magics" have...really dark. Megadeth sort of lost me after Countdown, but every album (except Risk IMO) has some great tunes.

I haven't listened to enough Metallica material since the "black album" to judge their current stuff, but I never really had any further interest. The songs I liked off that album were the more overlooked tracks it seems ("The God That Failed" is my favorite), and honestly I liked AJFA best out of their entire catalog.

Well Megadeth for me. Dave and Marty were the best guitar duo of all time, just my opinion. But I also like Metallica ( well I got into metal with metallica) But Megadeth has always been my favorite. Dave is surely not the most technical player in the rock scene. But his riffs are great. Megadeth has always been with me "In my darkest hours"
