    it's all about Marty.

    he is so much better than Hammett or Poland or whatever the new guys name is, it's not even the same ball park.
    the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

      Marty does rock.. He's so devoted to his instrument it's not even funny.. Listen to the stuff he did even before he joined Megadeth.. Just awesome!

        Certainly NOT worth a flame war over! But for me, easily its Megadeth.
        Metallica only "hangs" in there before 96' imo! Since then, they have
        lost their way. And "Lars" for me, is the clincher! He's an ASS!
        Plus ive never thought Kirk was that great. Too Chromatic sounding..not any
        Satriani vibe for me, which is weird since he spent so much time studying
        with Satch?

                  Megadeth......by an overwhelming margin...ie 1990 to the present....while Metallica did more to bring thrash exposure than anyone, Dave has carried on the good fight whereas Metallica hasn't actually written a decent thrash song since "Thru the Never" and has been cranking out bland, uninteresting cookie-cutter hard rock since returning after the black album......at least Dave's tunes still carry some musical and lyrical significance.... I think I made it about 1 1/2 songs into St. Anger and threw it out the window.....
                  I'm not into hell.........I just dig the soundtrack.........

                          Doing pretty good. I have been busy taking care of biz at home with the wife. But things are finally looking better!

                            How about the best of both? Megadeth with Cliff on bass and James on vocals and rhythm guitar (he's still the best around at that), Dave and Marty twin leads, that would be my ultimate metal band!

                              you forgot drums...

                              pretty much anyone in Megadeth is better than Lars... or even better, Dave Lombardo or Paul Bostaph!
