Metallica Versus Megadeth

I guess it would depend on the song. There are some songs from both that I really really like and some I will skip over.

I caught myself thinking: "I am still listening to Megadeath, while I was not (intentionally at least) to any even older Metallica material." It appears that there is so much more interesting musically for me in Megadeath, riffs, progressions, solos. They withstood the test of time, it appears.

just in terms of output and productivity Marty is head and shoulders over Poland. who could not stay in MD for more than two albums? who then came in and made MD an even more awesome medolic thrash band over the next 10 years?

I have two Ohm CDs and quite enjoy both. Although Fusion ain't Thrash, so Peace Sells fans might not like them.

I cant even compare these 2 Metallica is so much better, dont hate me but i really think that dave cant sing, plus , i am the one who likes metallicas black album, load .... . There are 2 metallicas albums that i think are bad , the first is Justice second St. anger.

but i understand you all , most of you started listening metallica before the black album and you probably did'nt like the new direction

I agree that marty is better guitarist in a trash band, other than that poland owns him imo

Metallica - better songs, sound, dynamics, production
Megadeth - more versatile, better musicians oriented music, more complex song structures, better guitar solos

As far as the bass players go, Rob just destroys them all, c'mon Metallica gig is too easy for him, he is a world class funk player, the other guys could never do the slapping and all the other crazy shit he does.

Drumming wise, Lars is the least skilled but has a better musical vision and one of the best drum sounds ever.

Chris Poland sounded kinda lame in Megadeth, it was his worst stuff, after Megadeth he became a monster player. He can smoke Marty as far as chops, versality and tone goes.
Marty is a better songwriter, composer and playes more melodic and memoriable solos and he is one of the most unique players. I like 'em both but I dig Marty a little bit more.
