Whaddya mean "now"? It's always been that way, it's just that when they were featuring people like Hendrix, EVH, Zappa, Belew, Grateful Dead, etc etc, they were picking stuff that was actually good, but I'm sure they based it as much on popularity with the kiddies as they do now.

Rolling Stone is like Teen-meets-Cosmo-meets-National Enquirer - whatever's popular today is the gospel they will preach. As soon as something new comes up, they drop yesterday's news and denounce it as garbage, and that this new stuff is "the real deal".

well ive never owned a rolling stone, and could care less who they consider a guitar god. or anyone else for that matter. but to call a guy like adam jones new? he's been on the cover of every guitar mag that ever was for 15 years, and influenced a million guitarists. ditto for 10 other guys on the list. how far up your ass would your head have to be not to know this, if you consider yourself an authority on the music scene? thats just bad journalism.
