**Anyway, sorry for the rant, but not every ticket buyer is a SLAYER
fan! (by that i mean unemployed with the next day off, from doing moms
laundry!) (Im sure im making lots of new friends with this one!**

So, since I am a Slayer fan, I need to quit my job?
I didn't realize I couldn't have a full time career and still be a Slayer fan. Thanks for pointing that out.
    Geez..

It can be a "catch 22", really. There will be the crowd that says just play the old stuff and do the nostalgia thing because the new songs don't measure up. Then you get a band like Black Sabbath doing the re-union/nostalgia thing for almost 10 years and the fans (myself included) have had enough of the same old setlist and are screaming for a new album, which they still haven't given us.

And ya know what Cleveland, that's fuckin' cool!

I'm all for it, whether I like it or not, i'm just one person. I despise Nirvana, but to those who like them, rock on.

I just want to be able to listen to what I like, and hope that melodic rock, hair metal, ghey metal, whatever someone wants to call it lives on, because that's what I like!

I love Overkill!!"Years of Decay" is one of my favorite album ever. They are great live.
People seem to either love Blitz or hate him.
He seemed like a really cool guy when I met him.

Yeah, Overkill has always been such a kick-ass band. Blitz was pretty local to me, and my friends and I would see him around all the time in the late '80s and early '90s. Very cool guy! I haven't seen them live in quite a few years, but they usually seem to come around and tour this area around October (and that's when they're coming around this year according to Starland Ballroom's website). Their new album should be done before the end of the year, too. I didn't care that much for the last album they put out (RelixIV) but it's still better than half the crap that's out today. Hopefully the new album will be better.

When you see Queensryche the first half of the show is Operation Mindcrime, the second half is Mindcrime II. I left after the first half.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Hell, a few years ago a friend had an extra ticket to see Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium, so I went. I don't own a Bon Jovi album, but I knew most of their songs. They sounded great, put on a really good show. I was, however, wearing a Slayer shirt! There was one other guy I saw there wearing an Overkill shirt; we just kinda laughed at each other.
Well im with you on that...heck i love Godsmack, Killswitch, Disturbed...
Pantera...but the gutteral Demon 3 octaves low stuff that the so called
"Singer" does in Slayer is just tiring in my opinon. At least Pantera did
                  it sparingly.

...what are you talking about? Have you listened to anything since Hell Awaits or Haunting the Chapel? Pantera's vocals (especially on GST and Reinventing the Steel) are 100x heavier and more "demonic" or "gutteral" than ANY of Slayer's vocals.

I love Overkill... Or at least I use to. I lost them when they kicked out Bobby Gustafson. The 2 guitar player thing didn't work for me. They changed after Years Of Decay. I thought they were on the verge of getting really huge on that album, but then Gus left and the writing changed and I got bored...

Don't FUCK with Slayer. Been a Slayer fan since 1984. You cannot fuck with that band...

Back to Winger... if you have never heard their Album "Pull", go get it. IMHO by far their best effort. A lot heavier than their earlier fluff that earned them their hair band fame. Pull is an awesome album, no filler. Every cut is great. I am amazed it didn't sell, but it came out pretty soon after grunge hit the scene.

                                +1

I about got upset, then I realized that Slayer was being slammed by someone who under their own volition went to Winger and then complains that it sounds like shit. What the fuck did you expect? Ever listen to one of their songs before?
