  • Kissology DVD...

Anyone bought this? OK, as much as I hate to admit it when I was in grade school I loved Kiss. Grades 1 through 5, they were all I listened to. It's really trippy watching footage from the mid seventies for the first time. The first couple of clips are a little hard to watch, but by 1975 they had their shit together as far as their live shows. Now I remember why I liked Ace Frehley so much as a kid...some of those solo's are just fucking classic no matter how simple. Five full concerts and some tv appearances and shit...not a bad deal for $22.00...I'm surprised Paul and Gene let them go for under $50.00!

I bought it. I like the very beginning of the DVD. It has really cool early footage. I was hoping there would be more footage of them rehearsing or hanging out, so I was disappointed in that respect, but overall it has alot of footage when they were on the rise.

This is just the first, from what I've read. There will be at least 2 more. Can't wait for the next one...

I have no problems admitting I liked, or still like, KISS. No shame at all. Ace was the reason I picked up a guitar and watching the DVD just cements it...

It is funny seeing video from the 70's like that because there was really no venue for that kind of thing. I remember watching the Paul Lynde Halloween Special and being blown away. That was the first time I saw them alive and move, apart from pictures from magazines and album covers. No youtube back in those days. So those things were very special...

Another thing I noticed from this DVD. Peter Criss could really bring it. That dude had some serious chops back then...

Until this DVD, Kiss hasn't seen a penny of my money since Unmasked...yup, I gave em' one more shot after Dynasty and I was all set. I moved on to AC/DC! So this is the only DVD I need. But if only I could have seen this footage when I was a kid...I would have been cumming buckets! Brings ya back to those days though...freaky. Only waited a quarter century to see it!

Are you sure there will be much more from Love Gun? The last show (Houston) and the bonus disc are from the Love Gun tour?

Seems to me I read that there was another Love Gun show on the next one. Maybe they will bill it more as an Alive II show. Not sure there. But I could be wrong. Eiter way, as long as its around the Dynasty era, they will get my money. I loved the costumes from that album. But then again, I saw them 6 times on the reunion tour...

I'll get these as long as they have makeup on. I'll take some Elder stuff and some Creatures stuff. I'd also like to see some stuff from the Solo Album era, that could be cool...

Just finished watching the song "Got To Chose" from '75 about ten times...the solo in this song is the perfect example of a lead guitarist saying a shitload with just a handful of notes and some tastey imaginative bends...the early shit actually had a "dark" quality to it I'm still diggin' today

To be honest with you, I think I'm one of the few that actually prefer the non-makeup era KISS as opposed to the stuff they did in the 70's!

And gave that Jackson one helluva beating!

I got three copies of this sucker just to get all the different bonus discs. Paul and Gene $till know what they are doing, lol......us sucker Kiss fans are crazy.

Looking forward to the next DVD.

ps. I sold my two spare copies, minus the bonus discs, to a friend and they ended up getting water damaged on New Years Eve in a bit of flash flooding we had here. A sad end to the DVD packaging.

I just watched this over the last few days. What a great DVD package. I didn't find the Bonus disc to be all that great. I had the one from Best Buy.

What are the differences in the bonus discs? The one I've got is from Capital Centre Largo MD, 12/20/77. I just threw it on!

Best Buy had another performance from Cobo Hall, 1/25/76 I think was the date. It was the day before the concert on the first disc.
