No Rest For The Wicked, Pride & Glory and Sonic Brew were all masterclasses in guitarplaying, but now it seems he's stuck in a rut.

A clip like this proves he's not completely trapped in his Captain Caveman image, so maybe there's hope yet...

Dave wrote a song for the last POS Ozzy album and Zack was pissed that he had to play the shitty song... He says what he feels...As far as Dave having more talant? Why do you say that?

I watched BLS live and that dude does NOT make a bad note with his voice or guitar. I have heard him do some very cool stuff on the piano as well. There is a recording of him playing/singing "Candle in the Wind" that sounded awesome! After the song he say something like..."That Elton John has some cool shit!" Between Ozzy, BLS and Pride and Gloys...He has demonstrated a lot of diversity IMO.

Well he has witten many platnum albums. So what if Dave played every instrument.

To have the ability to play all of the rock instrument isn't any stretch these days...Most serious players I know can. My drummer plays guitar and bass technically better than any thing recorded by Grohl. Every member in my bank can play all instruments in the band well as a matter of fact...Never heard Grohl play piano either...I could be wrong, but Zakk is no hack, he is a pianist and has incredible singing ability. Far better range and diversity than Dave has shown.

Lets forget about popularity for this because that has NOTHING to do with talent...Just popularity and if popularity is a reflection of talent then lets just throw away out CD collection and crank up the MTV!

Grohl is a "Good" drummer...a passable vocalist and capable on guitar. He excels in writing songs that appeal to MTV and Y Gen. Generations who’s musical tastes are not of the highest musical standards.

I gotta say, I prefer Zakk Wylde's solo project "Book of Shadows" better than anything the Foo Fighters have done. Grohl is a pretty damn good drummer, he's a decent but not great guitarist. His song writing doesn't do it for me. I find the Foo Fighters songs are repetitious and boring. I like the sound of their band, just not the song writing. Most of their songs are good, but not great. They all sound the same to me. IMHO of course.
