but Grohl is pretty much a musical rennaissance man, he can do it all.

when Zakk can play pro level drums, AND play guitar and sing and write albums where he plays every instrument on the album and it goes platinum, then he will be on Grohl's level.

    I wouldn't hold your breath.
I know Zakk plays much better guitar, neither are fantastic singers, but both are passable, and Grohl plays drums and Zakk does piano. If it wasn't for Cobain, nobody would know who Grohl was, and without Ozzy nobody would know who Zakk was. Everything else is opinion.

And somehow this is a problem? Don't be a hater, man. He smokes on the axe. Admit it.

I like Zakk and think he is a great musician...But, I'm definitely not a huge fan...

Who knows if either would have made it...That to, is opinion. Zakk has a great voice...Lots of soul and range...Great control.

But someone can sit here all day saying "They think" this and that...JMHO...

I have seen Zakk live and you just know this guy was born to play...One of those musicians who just can't seem to make a musical mistake because it is such a part of him.

Bro, I don't even own any of his solo stuff. Just lovelistening to him play when I do hear him play.

A friend of mine plays drums for Zakk, so I've had the chance to meet him a couple of times and I can tell you that he's the most down to earth, friendly, guy that loves to talk about his heroes, his wife/kids, and playing guitar. There's a reason that he and Dime got along so well...

Agree with this to a point, I got to spend some one on one time with him for an entire afternoon during a photoshoot and he couldn't have been cooler.

On the other hand I went to see BLS on a weeknight a year later here in LA and he threw a temper tantrum and walked offstage after 3 songs....$35 down the drain.

I guess it just depends on how many Beck's he's had that day.
Kahler...Killing guitar values DEAD since 1981.

Zakk doesn't have to prove anything to anyone anymore. I think he has earned that right after all these years. He is one of the few remaining rock gods who hasn't sold out or quit shredding. One of my idols and people I emulate playing wise. He is the man!

Zakk is an awesome player, I think he was just too sober for that lesson
