I have tried many times but I can't get the hang of thumb picks.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

Yeah, Guitar Player had a reprint magazine in the 80s called 'Hot Licks' that showed excerpts from past lessons and transcriptions.

Chet had a thing he called a 'superlick' that was a sweep with fingers and thumbpick. I believe the article was from the 70s, predating Yogi Maelstrom by several years.

Yeah, that is most certainly a sweep. Chet playing on a "Super Chet".

Jerry Reed is a really good picker. Turned 70 the other day.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Reminds me of Jerry Reed singing "Pretty Mary Sunshine" while locked in a basement on an episode of Scooby Doo. heh

If so, I did not know he was a player. Awesome stuff!!

                  Thats the guy.

Some very cool playing there! I wouldn't be surprised if Chet picked that up from Les Paul...he was sweeping back in the 50's and they used to play together.

Thank you.. I was thinking the exact same thing. Les Paul is one of the innovators of shred. I recall my mom commenting on him back when I taking up guitar on how he was always 'wizzing up and down the neck'
