  • Dimmu were just wayyyy cooler when they played Jacksons

Something about it all just doesn't look right anymore.

Looks like Galder has a Laiho model and Silenoz has some other ESP Les Paul knockoff that I can't stand. Galders old lightning sky RR ruled.

      Yes, definitely.

I also saw Behemoth two days ago and noticed with horror they were all playing LTDs (Nergal was playing an Amott Ninja V, Seth an EX of some sort).
Last time I saw them they played Gibsons and Custom 7s and whatnot.

      What a shame.

Well, ESP has been actively looking for bands to endorse their axes. I'm sure the bands either get a super deal or maybe even a freebie or two (depending on the bands sales I would think), so who can blame the bands for getting some new gear?

I really can't understand why all of these well known established bands go to ESP.
Sure it's nice to get a freebie or two but the bottom line has to be that you love playing the guitars you endorse.
I am myself endorsed by Jackson and also my bandmate & second guitarist and have been so for about 5 years.
I've played almost only Jacksons since the early `90s and thats why we approached them and were totally freaked out when we got the deal.
Sure things could be a lot better but hey how many free guitars do you need?
I usually play one old beat up axe anyways and I do it with pride `cause it says Jackson on the headstock.

Galder can play whatever he sees fit, even if it's not a Jackson he's still the man.......I'm quickly losing my taste for Dimmu though, serious misuse of Vortex's vocal talents (I'm still stale cause he left Borknagar, Archaic Course is the best album EVER!!!)
I'm not into hell.........I just dig the soundtrack.........

Uhm, maybe he found that he enjoys playing ESPs more, simple as that.

Ah those wacky Norwegians. Still stuck on the crusades.

Might be they were using those guitars because they're black. Might be an art direction issue for the video.

Hmm, I sure hope that would be the reason but seeing how many artists are moving to ESP I strongly doubt that's why they do it. Sure there are some nice ESP's but then you will have to spend big bucks and that's not the guitars they are "giving" away to the new endorsees.

Their Jacksons were black. It's because they are an ESP endorsee now. If you're a metal band there's a 99.7% chance you can get an ESP endorsement.

Bottom line, ESP has better advertisement and marketing toward endorsers. They are just better at offering Musicians free shit, advertising and what not. If Jackson offered them free equipment, free advertisement and maybe sucked them off a bit, they'd have those Jacksons. There is a reason why SO many people are going to ESP, and Jackson needs to do it to compete

fuck no, Jackson is the players guitar. People who actually PLAY and know guitars know that jackson is high quality, and brilliant players. Alot of endorsees of other brands have had jackson/charvel pasts before being paid to play something else. I love jacksons pure brand and image direction, theyre a guitar building company not a marketing and pr firm. The owners nowdays could sway that a little, but I'm hoping only for the better.

Jackson only has 83 endorsed artists listed on their website... Esp has... too many to count (maybe 200+)
