  • Paul Gilbert - raw footage from 1986

Look past the too tight skimpy shorts and the Rush shirt, if just for a moment...this is some killer shit. Who needs his instruction videos? what, was he about 18 when this was shot???

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Part 2 is like freaking Yngwie School...FWIW - if you didn't know, all the the first stuff he's playing on the pink BC Rich is Akira Takasaki / Loudness riffs...

These clips are sick - you get to hear him rip through all these people who influenced him...unreal

Somebody save this to hard drive before it gets pulled for whatever stupid reason youtube may come up with...

I just watched both clips again, clearly PG has been getting it for a long time

Gigantic spider fingers...I'm pretty blown away by those vids. Demo's of how to play all your favorite riffs.... "Mean Street" intro ????? no problem...

Cool! Thanks for the links. I'm saving them in case they get yanked, and I'll post if needed. Just ask.

I have a cool story.I was really young and taking lessons at Latrobe Music and Sound. This was at the time they had the recording studio in store.I guess they did the Giant demo.I heard "Hang Tough" coming out of the studio. My friend and I told the guy that we loved that song.He told us to go to the counter and buy a couple of tapes. He dubbed 3-4 Giant songs off of the mixer for us."Hell by the Pound"was on there also.Funny part is that I didn't know until this year that Gilbert even played with them.

I also remember a band named 313 from around that time. The song was "I Robbed The Cradle".Brings back some serious memories.

Had to be around '84-'85.I really can't remember.

Latrobe, huh? Cool. I gre up in Mckeesport area. Dave Gonzales, Giant's lead singer was from there, to. I remember hearing Racer X's "Living The Hard Way" for the first time, going "Why do I already know this song?". I was singing along, word for word, until I looked at the credit list, and saw "D. Gonzales". Then it hit me "Duh!". Hehe. Fun times, fun times....
