This girl is 16 I think and she's got her version of Scarified playing on her front page. I didn't check out the other girls yet but I think this girl is a pretty outstanding young player.
Yeah .. there was another thread around that had links to some youtube videos of her. I wish I had her talent

        New guitar chicks?

        > I just checked out that Chelsea Constable, and I have to add her to my previous statement. ANY chick that can play Scarified is kick ass in my book. Tommy D.

I am still a better guitar player than she will ever hope to be. I have the post count to prove it.

Thats right. Every player that repeats standard riffs that they didn't even write themselves deserves me to call them on it.

The riffs that this super hot shick plays were written by blues players 50 years ago. She mixes them in with some watered down Santana riffs.
            Boring.

Jennifer Batten is a different story. She is awesome.
There are alot of great women guitar players. Orianthi is not one of them.

every friggin lead guitarist plays those blues licks wich were written 50 years ago... yes even Steve Vai.

you said that every day 10 kids at GC plays like that.... if that's true then my ears must be full of dog crap because I don't hear some random kids having tone and feel like that.

I listen with my ears not with my dick, I've heard of this Orianthi chick before, and the first time I listened to her recordings I didn't know how she looked like. I really liked her tone on some tunes.... in fact it was better than any tone I've heard posted in this forum, I also liked her singing voice and her ability to write decent tunes and hooks.

Some great blues players use only 3 notes most of the time, so what if its repeative... at least it's sincere and sounds good.

A while ago when Eddie Van Halen's NAMM video was posted here you said that every hack that comes to Guitar Center can play like that.

It makes me wonder if you have any musical hearing at all.
Everyone knows that Ed is fucking sloppy these days but he still has an incredible pitch and feel. He has an unbeliveable controll over his intonation even at his worst days. Only one in the million has such a tremendous talent to get such an amazing feel and controll. But you are saying that some random kids who can't keep bends and vibrato in tune can play just like him. Man that's bullshit.

I remember how you said all the great things about bands like Dragonforce or other stuff like that here. To me it sounded like total garbage, two dudes playing the most generic scales and arpeggios with amazingly horrible guitar sound and without having any tone and feel in their hands whatsoever.

It comes to personal taste, I'll take this Orianthi chick over those scale guys and you listen to what you want but it's pretty low to compare recording artists to a kids who hang out at GC.

                  Thats your little head speaking.

In regards to your statement that you wonder if I have any musical hearing at all??? I played Moonlight Sonata by ear when I was 10 years old at Lincoln Center in NYC. Nuff said about that.

Oh yea.. and another thing Endrik. We seem to either totally agree or totally disagree about alot of topics but I never insulted your musicianship. Ask anybody who knows me or has heard me play. I was a prodigy on piano at 10. I can play darn near every instrument and I have relative pitch which is pretty close to perfect.
One more thing... Orianthi's tone isn't even unique or inspiring. It sounds exactly like Carlos's. Neck pickup... PRS.... Boogie. Don't get me wrong.. its good tone and she plays good too. She just isn't incredible or great.

Oh I love you guys, but I think your being a bit anal.
I don't care if its pentatonic or advanced sweep apeggios, any lady or girl that can play the guitar like any of the ladies in this thread, my hats off to them. Such skills seen in this thread with the SMOOTH and EFFORTLESS execution (make it look easy) of those skills are note worthy.
They all are prime candidates for having my children.
Truly a blessing to have any of them as recipients.
The gene pool would be perfect for creating guitar extraordinaries.

That is exactly the sentiment I am talking about. Gene pools, having my children... etc... have nothing to do with the guitar playing.

If I was female guitar player I would be offended by your response.

On a side note.. even most of the girl 80's metal bands for the most part who had girl lead players were marginal players at best.
Lots of the guy/girl bands had guy soloists. Again.. I just don't get it.

I think you may have failed to see the intended humor.
I complemented their playing, which is clearly obvious (to me anyways) they are very very good players. Then, I made a comment about them having my children. I wasn't trying to be sexist, I'm just focusing on the larger picture, I'm thinking about the greater cause of providing the music industry with guitar extraordinaries.

John, I wasn't insulting you I made a harmless sarcastic remark because you compared EVH to the people who can't play. Even the most technically proficient modern shredders don't have such a good feel and pitch as Ed so how the heck can some dorks can be on the same level with him.

As far as the tone goes, I don't care if it's Santana's tone. There are only a handfull guitarists in the world who have their own unique tone.. and you know it. Damn, there were tons of great players in the 80's, most of them tryed to copy Ed's brown sound.... hell half of this board copies the brown sound. Nothing wrong with that. There haven't been anything remarkably new in guitar tones for over ten years.

I thought you were talking about Carlos until you said "C'mon bro's.. she's super hot and thats the reason she is legit". That lameass has been playing the same fucking 3 licks since 1965.
