I'm a HUGE Jane's fan (one of my top 5 favs) and I like Satellite Party so far. most of their songs are pretty good. the song Awesome sucks though.

I also saw their first ever show at The Key Club last Spring, when they had Tony Kanal on bass. great show.

Nuno brings the chops, and Perry's great on vocs as always of course. the main rap I have on Perry is he takes fucking forever to get a record out, and most days he seems completely out to lunch, burnt. plus having his wife Etty in the band is lame IMO. she has zero talent. another Yoko

but yeah I've been following this from the beginning like I do with all the Jane's side projects and spinoffs. I'll probably get the cd when it comes out.

it's definetly bazillion times better than Navarro's latest project wich blows monkey balls.... cuz that shit doesn't have any balls... kinda weird.... I loved his and Avery's project Destruction wich was a very cool and trippy album.

        agreed.

Deconstruction is one of the best rock albums of all time if you ask me. that's one of my desert island cds.

and yeah The Panic Channel sucked. I was sad to see that. I love Dave Navarro's playing up to that point. he's one of my inspirations.

You guys have me curious about Deconstruction...have to check it out. But....I really dig The Panic Channel. It does have some "wandering" moments, but overall I think there is some really good stuff there, and really strong vocals....something that seems to be lacking (to me) in a lot of music today.

The Panic Channel is not that bad actually, I heard more of their songs yesterday and there were some pretty cool moments. But my first impression was very negative because their first single... the ballad wich was on MTV was so fucking lame... no attitude no balls no rock'n'roll. But the stuff my friend showed me yesterday was very different. Cool Beatles-esque chord progressions and vocal melodies, some cool progressive and eastern sounding elements and well attitude. I really liked the song Teahouse... or something like that.

Dday, have you heard Farrell's and Perkins' project Porno For Pyros?

Picked that one up years ago...I'll have to go back and give it another listen this week.

I take it you're not a Jane's Addiction fan then? cause very few Jane's fans like what TPC is doing. it's funny you mentioned the vocals being strong too, cause that is the main sticking point for all Jane's fans is, they hate Steve Isaacs' vocals in that band. for me, he ruins the band. I'm all about Dave ripping on guitar and Perk drumming it out, but when I hear that whiny Isaacs voice come in I just want to hit the Stop button. different strokes I guess.

Deconstruction is out of print. look for a copy on ebay or in the Amazon used listings. you won't regret it.

actually, if you like TPC, you might not like Deconstruction.... it makes TPC sound like a fukkin chipmunks album.

Jane's deserved a lot more fame than grunge bands because they were a lot more groundbraking and wrote cooler tunes.

I actually love Jane's Addiction. 2 different animals to me, and to be honest, when I think "whiny", I think of someone like Vince Neil. Guess that's why I loved MC's album with John Corabi. Back to the other....listen to "Teahouse.." or "Left to Lose"....I wouldn't call that whiny at all. Some of my friends hate JA b/c of PF's voice. Like you said...different strokes. I like it all.

ha ha yeah, that's cool, I know some people can't stand Perry's voice. I never got that, I think he's a genius. a fucked up goofy totally random genius, but then most geniuses are like that.

I basically don't dislike TPC's music, but Isaacs' voice makes me want to chew tinfoil.

if you like TPC, try to go see them asap, cause I doubt that they'll be around much longer given the lack of success they've had commercially.

I saw one of their first few shows here and it was.... OK.
always good to see Navarro tear it up.

but if you love Jane's, GET DECONSTRUCTION immediately!
such an amazing record, and I think it's Dave's best work ever. his playing is just transcendent on that album. it soars.
