I have seen this bulletin board game many a time, I know, he is popular, he has respect, people like him, so he can insult the newbies cause well, they are newbies, they know nothing of us (the old timers, the great ones) and have to "earn" respect. And believe me, he isnt experiencing any grief. If he were he would tell the mods to ban me and they would because he is a great one and I am a newb. But settle down, its a Bulletin Board!!! Cant we talk guitars, and amps?

Lets get back on topic? Or has this "debate" of credentials/respect/bs taken over? I hope not, cause I am done responding to him and his buddies.

Sorry, there's a difference between hitting the right mark and hitting the right mark at the right time, and if it were the 80's I'm sure the album would have done heaps better, but you shouldn't be bitter that 80's music isn't a hit in the 21st century.

Sounds more like '94 or '97, and in Europe that kind of stuff is pretty popular.

It sounded like an 80's core with a bit of 90's style mixed in. Great vocals. Bad lyrics (half expected).

Jgcable has posted a few times in mp3 area too, for folks like Vlover. I used to have Charvel Boogie or San Dimas boogie or something floating around on my computer a few hard drive crashes back.

I should have saved a lot of the stuff from the board over time.

At least then you'll always have a job. I can't find any good drummers around here.

Well.. maybe he didn't listen to them but I am sure he was totally aware of them. Especially the ones that were mentioned in the same sentences as him.
With that said.. Yngwie would be considered an incredible guitar player. At least he is to me.
Hendrix, Blackmore + Roth = Yngwie. Which he finally admitted when he did his "Inspirations" covers album. Though he butchered Sails of Charon, he acknowledged Roth who was the secret ingredient in Yngwie's style. In fact the first time I saw the Alcatrazz video on MTV I said "That guy plays like Uli!" Of course he disses Gilbert because Paul has exceeded him in the style he takes credit for creating.

There is a double standard, but many good points have been made, primary of which is girls don't need to prove they have the bigger penis like guys do. Also, I don't think that we guys feel as competitive with the female player, because we're experiencing the groupie factor too. She's hot, you'd love to get with her, hey I dig her playing. Human nature to do that.
That's why chicks dig some shitty male players too. AWWW, he's cute!

I love to find the girls who really, not necessarily shred, but rock out with taste and aggression. It justifies being a male groupie; I play guitar well enough that I can't fawn over a hack no matter how hot she is. But if she's good, I admit I will watch and enjoy her playing with less critiquing than I would a male of equal level, unless he's my bud.

Now if she hits some clams, I will both compliment the good stuff and say, "but the solo in ---- was a little shaky". You have to keep it honest and relate on a colleague level rather than just schmoozing her because she's a pretty girl.

I have the Live at the Astoria video of Vai, and Macalpine plays a lot of guitar on that DVD, keeping up with Vai every step of the way. In fact when Vai introduces the band and gets to MacAlpine he says "he might just kick MY ass tonight!".

He is equally skilled on both instruments which is doubly awesome in my book.
