I really do agree with most what is said here... the new version IS cool, and DOES look good (Christina makes everything look good! )...

yet it does lack Marty Friedman in every second of the whole thing... the edge, the approach to leads, the very specific way to do them...

marty needs to be back there, although we all know that won't happen

i like the original better, but this isnt bad.
i like glens solo too. a bit more flash, but the tie in with the original solo is pretty well done.

      not bad

the best metal band for 10 years straight.
I still like the original the best
They did 2 great albums instead of 1. And Poland has such an original style. he's still one of the best. Saw his band OHM a couple months ago and they were friggin amazing.
Marty's more of a spin off of Uli, still really good but I prefer the Poland version.

Dave IS Megadeth though. Junior might have been around for awhile, but it's always been Mustaine's band. He's said it on many occasions.

Well, although Glen is a very good player, not many people are Marty.

I liked it because Cristina Scabbia is singing... and if it gives LC more exposure good for them.

Other than that, it's kinda pathetic Dave is trying to suck up to the Ozzfest crowd.

I didn't like it at first because it's so much faster than the original...but the more I listen to it the more I like it. If only it didn't have that retarded "walkie-talkie" mod over some of the vox.

The only thing I liked about the original version was the solo anyway. Other than that I always thought the song was kinda whiney.. But I guess that's the problem I have with Mustaine; I loved the music he made when he had the "take no prisoners - take no shit" attitude, but I think when he suddenly made a song about "please, don't cry when I'm gone, I love you all (I have feelings too you know) etc." it was just a bit too much for me..

Edit: And what's up with that girl looking so scared and sad in the beginning? wtf is that about?

What I like the most about here is that although I posted "Dave's Dean" as a part of the thread name nobody posted a comment about his guitar, I like it when people/guitaristis talk about music not "gear"

So I guess we CAN stop talking about gear :ROTF:

Why was that necessary? That version guts the song of any and all emotional impact that the original version had. Way to go Dave!

I was never a huge fan of the original version, but this was at least worth watching. As for the song itself, I'd probably skip to the next track after one or two listens.
