Lots of differing opinions here... I thought that Dave and Chris Poland did a decent job on System. Pitrelli can play but he was wrong for the band. Drover doesn't do anything for me...didn't in his previous band either. IMO, Dave needs a distinctive stylist, and a bit of an oddball like Poland or Friedman to balance out his monotone agression.

I agree that the band hit their low point with Risk but they are slowly getting better. I think TSHF is their 4th best (after RIP, CTE, PS) and from what I've heard of the new album, it's even better.
The couple of times I've seen them perform with the current lineup, Glen has 99% nailed Marty's leads. Don't give up on them yet!
I gave up when Marty left. and I'm not going back.

I don't know, man. Every 4 or 5 years, Dave hits the streets with his "this is Megadeth's year" schtick, pimps a new signature model in all the mags, and the whole thing is greeted with a great big yawn. Enough already.Comment

I saw them last night, Dave was awesome. Signature guitars are a bullshit Idea. Like name brand clothing your girlfriend wants.....why....CAUSE ITS A GUCCI...no other reason. I wouldnt even notice if he was playing a dean, esp, or jackson. They all look the same, wired the same, and his same fingers.Comment

I don't like the current line up.I think that Glen Drover's a YouTube shredder in leather pants.He has nothing special.He just writes something to fill up the solo spot.Marty was perfect.But he went.I don't think you can rebuild the burnt bridges.So,Dave needs someone special with his own trademark tone and sound.I wish my hair-color was EDS :/Comment

Glen is miles better than being a youtube shredder that's certain. But playing and being a musician are different things (I know people always say this ) And Glen is not good enough as a musician imo

1) Al and Jimmy were GREAT in Megadeth. They just didn't fit in Dave's "master plan."
2) The smartest thing Al ever did was distancing himself from that band and concentrating on TSO.
3) Dave's injury was real. The major joke was him announcing on his website that he had "Saturday Night Palsy" and then a few days later coming back with "radial neuropathy."
