  • question about the MM1

saw Lamb of God last night

man, what a gig! the pit was intense. Morton's Jackson looked awesome on stage. And both guitarists sounded fantastic. Didn't see what amps they were using but Morton had Mesa cabs & Adler had Marshalls. Of course, the band was as tight as a frog's asshole.

I think I'm getting fluey from leaving the venue completely soaked in sweat & getting caught in a cold breeze. And man, I have some aches and pains today. That's okay though, because I also have a couple of cool concert Ts

a question about the Morton sig guitar though - his stage guitar had a burst front, but it looked like the sides were a lighter regular trans finish. Kind of like some Collens I've seen, with stained fronts & coloured backs. Does the MM1 have the same? I thought it looked really cool.

The back and sides are indeed a regular trans and show the wood grain.
Here's some pics of mine that show the top adjoining the body.

Here's a pic of one of Mark's Custom Shops (maybe the prototype?) that actually has the natural mahogany back without trans finish over it. I heard Mark's are actually pretty heavy, but the import production models are chambered and pretty light.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Since when did Zakk Wylde join LOG and start playing a goofy looking Jackson guitar :p

ah, that's the one! Thanks Joe. I couldn't tell if the sides had no finish or just a clear over it, but now that you point it out, it would've been the natural mahogany colour. Either way, I really liked the contrast of the sides against the trans black top. It's a shame that the production models aren't mahogany with a cleared back.

There was something on the LOG DVD where he talks about his setup. I think it was something like Mark uses Two Masa Mark IV's in stereo. All but one of his cab on stage is empty. No effects.

Damn I'd like to have a nice MM1 right as the one Mark plays in that pic. It looks great. Do you think it would be a nice substitute for a les-paulish guitar? I'm playing some 70s rock with some guys and I would like to play a hard tail + pafs equipped guitar. I tryed an epiphone sg but I did not like it that much..
