      • As a Vai fan, I got turned onto Devin Townsend.
I love his "Accelerated Evolution" album, but I don't like the SYL stuff at all...guess I'm just an old fogey...

That's right, Mike was in Loudness, too! I've never heard any other stuff from him besides Yngwie, Obsession or Loudness. I must seek it out!

            • +10 to Coverdale. Nobody sounds like him.
Uhm yes, someone does and his name is Kelly Keeling. Checkout his vocals on Rude Awakening from Michael Schenker's album by the same title.

When I first clicked on this topic, I expected to hear something great or at least humorous. It's a joke alright.

              • Halford on "Sin After Sin" and "Stained Class". Or were those the 70's?

Sin After Sin was '77 and Stained Class was '78.

Read the lyrics from Raw Deal off of Sin After Sin. How nobody could figure out Halford was gay back then is beyond me!

I watched an early 70s performance of that song on YouTube last night. Awesome stuff. I love how he can hit all those high parts, but there's no mistaking Gillan for anything but a guy. Unlike a lot of modern power metal vocalists...

Both Doug and Yngwie totally kick ass on it..it really doesn't sound like Yngwie's style or tone..it's firey!!
I have never heard that, Bill, but I would love to. I'm with Gary on The Mob album, Doug's voice is great and Reb is playing like a monster.

                            • Add Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple bassist and Black Sabbath singer) to the list. Very soulful voice, great range and excellent vibrato.

Oh,and Tony Martin too,but he was at the tail end of the 80's
