    Eric Martin.

Also, a few more obscure guys for ya all (only Bill will probably recognize them)...

    Rory Cathy (Cold Sweat)
    Keith St. John (Burning Rain)
    Johnny Giolli (Hardline)

Johnny is awesome. I dig his voice on the Axel Rudi Pell stuff.

      • My favourites are Bruce "Air-Raid Siren" Dickinson, James Hetfield and I think Dave Mustaine had/has a real characteristic voice.

        • Eric Adams of Manowar!!!

Cheese factor aside, he's got an amazing range, tone and power!

            • Just watching some live Firehouse on dvd. What an underrated band they were.......that CJ guy could sing circles around many of his peers at the time, and Bill Leverty is one heck of a guitarist. SO here's a vote for CJ from Firehouse.

I get tickled at the adjectives used to describe Dave's vocal abilities or lack of. Words like "distinct, unusual, unique," and now "characteristic." I can use those same adjectives to describe my farts. Considering the title of the thread, Dave's name shouldn't even be mentioned.

                  Yeah, I love Eric, too!

And as far as Endrik mentioning Rob Halford not having great midrange, he's right. The guy that does have some great midrange is Tim "Ripper" Owens. If Rob Halford and Eric Adams had a baby together, it would be Tim. :ROTF:

I agree. While I like alot of Dave's music, his vocal styling, to me, would not exactly fit the original intention of this thread. He sounds like Jughead from The Archies cartoons, to me.
                    I'm not Ron!

Especially if he's wearing that animal skin outfit of his. What a sexy beast!

                              • Rick Sanford of Legs Diamond. FYI his brother Gregg Sanford was the front man for George Lynch's band Xciter. It's just too bad Lynch never hooked up with Rick. I often thought that if Legs Diamond Had had a more aggressive guitar player great things could have happened.
