as do bazillion funk players... but that particular riff was a Mudvayne rip-off

It sounds quite uninspired to me, the same riff over and over again ..

                    No, Dream Theater

That's a cool track. I never liked LaBrie's vocals, but here, they are okay. He doesn't use his usual whiney, high pitched obnoxious squealing noises he's so famous for - thank god for that.

                        Wow, that really stunk!

I stopped listening to DT after Scenes from a Memory, the last few cd's have just been the same crap over and over again, and can't jordan rudess get a different keyboard sound already?

I can't watch the vid here at work, but I'd like to put in my comment on DT:

Everything after 6DOIT sounds exactly the same: generic trendy metal on 7-strings. Images & Words is my favorite album by them. I think it's their most unique sound, plus Under a Glass Moon has an amazingly cool guitar solo.

Okay, I listened to it now. I think the middle improv part is awesome, and really brings to mind some of the better stuff they've done. The song itself though? Boring seven string riffs that Petrucci could write in his sleep. It used to be about the songs...now it's about the solos. It all changed around Scenes. Oh well, I guess I'll just go back and listen to Metropolis Part 1.

Middle part was insane, these guys play on another level. Not my cup of tea but very impressive.
