Bernie Torme - Gillan, Torme, Electric Gypsies...Ozzy 'Diary' tour.

If wasn't for Torme, I wouldn't be using a Floyd today, though Torme manages to use his whammy without the need for a locking nut and fine tuners.

Torme still stands out from everyone else with his trem technique and getting a crushing tone from single coils and a knackered HIWATT...a true underrated hero.

IMO, the first Tuff Luck record is the only record I ever listened to that had the same energy, magic, and vibe as VH I. Dave's playing was just real. raw, energetic, and amazing. He has a terrific sense of melody, something alot of players are missing IMO. Todd Kelly (who was murdered in 1994) was an incredible drummer as well...

Some samples of his playing are here:

He did the solos on all the samples. The way he redid the Poison solos are terrific IMO. Tone, vibrato (see C.C. it IS possible to bend/vibrato in tune), and melody are incredible. "Ride The Wind" is the highlight IMO.

Ditto. We might as well throw SRV, Kirk Hammett, EVH, and Dimebag Darrell into the mix.

The artist formerly called as Prince :ROTF:

He's got pretty good feel, but he's not creative with his phrasing. He's a pentatonic player. So he gets the respect he deserves. Nothing more or less.

Hell yeah! It's fun watching him use his piano playing technique and see him apply that to guitar for 8-finger tapping!

I agree. They used to roll into my hometown, here, at a local club, and I would always make sure I was present and accounted for. I played the s#$@ out of that tape! Fortunately, I managed not to longa ago to get a copy of it, on CD. Tonight, Tonight is STILL one of my favorite songs.
