I saw them in 2006.. I think. It sucked. Slash was sloppy and he played about half the notes he was supposed to play.. he kinda glued the notes together with his wah. Maybe he just had a bad day.

I have noticed that too on their tv appearances. Sometimes it is slopped together and other times awesome. I guess he is human like the rest of us.

Let me be the first to say it is nice to hear Slash with a frontman that doesn't sing through his nose the whole time. Axle's voice just get's under my skin. He wrote some good melodies, but he should have let someone else sing them.

That was pretty cool, though I think Slash forgot to turn his guitar volume up on She Builds Quick Machines I can't stand Scott Weiland though. He's obnoxious and painful to watch.

I saw them a few weeks ago. They were great! Only one GnR tune... Used To Love Her. One STP song... Vaseline. A cool cover of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, a cool cover of Talking Heads' Psycho Killer as well. Scott sang well, way better than Axl ever could.

Scott is cool and all but he doesn't have the bigger than life stage presence that Axl had.... asshole?.... yes, definetly... one of the biggest....great frontman?.... one of the greatest.... some hate Axl's voice but you can't deny how much power and attitude he had coming out of his throat

I agree. I don't hate Axl's voice at all, I just like Scott better.

                        I don't like Axl, and I don't like Scott.

I also really hate the fact that if I want to see Alice in Chains, that I have to pay to see these yocals as well... I'm certain there's a lot better "up and coming" bands out there.

But as an "apology" to myself, I think I'll be seeing Lillian Axe as well, so it's all good.

the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

nothing whatsoever about VR interests me. their songs are bland, they all sound the same, and Slash is not really that great a player. good, not great.

Scott was great in STP, but this band is like an afterthought.

I love the first GnR album, and I really enjoyed STP but Velvet Revolver just sounds so bland to me. I guess it's because Izzy and Axl were the primary songwriters for GNR and Weiland can't write tunes that don't sound like STP.
